The teen had long heard stories that pirates had used the island to hide valuable treasure. He quickly returned home to get a few friends to help him dig the area he had discovered. After working tirelessly for several days what they found inspired them to keep digging. Just two feet below the surface they found a layer of flagstone covering a pit. In Christ has been hidden unsearchable riches. These riches are waiting to be found by men and woman who are willing to dig for them. UNSEARCHABLE RICHES by Scott Taylor

Off the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada lies a small private Island that is comprised of 140 acers. The Island has long been the center of a great mystery that has brought famous men to its shores. Some of those famous people ranged from Franklin Delano Roosevelt to John Wayne. It all began in the summer of 1795 when a young teenager wandering around on the island came across a strange depression in the ground that appeared to be man-made. As they continued to dig they discovered that every 10 feet someone had put oak logs covering the pit. After 8 years and a lot more help they quickly dug to the depth of 90 feet discovering a stone in-scribed with mysterious writings. After removing the logs and the stone at 90 feet the hole began to flood. After numerous attempts to pump out the water it appeared to have been booby trapped which caused the pit to flood and the presumed treasure unreachable.

In 1849 a drilling company drilled to 98 feet discovering a gold chain adding to the mystery of a great treasure. Many believe the treasure is from Spanish pirates and others believe that the island could contain King Solomon’s temple artifacts such as the Ark of the Covenant. After 221 years since the young teenager dug the mysterious hole on Oak Island many people have dedicated their lives re-searching and searching for this mysterious treasure. Although it is a mystery and no one really knows for sure what treasure lies beneath the surface, one thing is certain, they all believe that a great treasure awaits to be discovered.

The Oak Island story has long intrigued me. As I think about what could possibly be found I am often drawn to the scripture in the Bible that talks about the “unsearchable riches” in Ephesians chapter 3:8-9.

"Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ."

In Christ has been hidden unsearchable riches. These riches are waiting to be found by men and woman who are willing to dig for them. Many times we fail to dig in our Bible because we think it’s too hard to understand. Just remember like all great treasure hunters, we must become students of the treasure maps given to us. Often times treasure maps are difficult to read at first, but if you keep study-ing the clues everything you need to discover the treasure is on the map. In this case the Bible is our treasure map and the “unsearchable riches” are waiting to be discovered.

War with the Word by Lisa Jenkins-Moore

There are times in life when we feel

surrounded. Perhaps the cares of this

life have choked our desires for inti-

macy with Christ; tragedy has struck

one too many times; our health or the

health of those around us continues

to suffer; or prayers remain unan-

swered. Everyone struggles—even

the phrase has become a cliché’ “the

struggle is real.”

Nevertheless, God is MORE real,

and His Word is a weapon waiting to

be wielded. I was reminded recently

to “wage war with the Word.” Too

often we are led by our souls instead

of our spirits. The soul consists of

the mind, will, and emotions. Any-

time we base our decisions on what

we think, what we want, or what we

feel, we are choosing our path based

on soulish desires. Rather than look

inward, we must look outward (in

His Word) and upward (to our God),

directing our lives accordingly. By

making outward and upward a habit,

we are training our souls to follow

our spirits.

The Bible tells us to “walk in the

spirit and not fulfill the lust of the

flesh” (Galatians 5:16). Our flesh has

many desires, and the only way we

will overcome them is by feeding

our spirit continually. How do we

make our spirit grow? First and fore-

most, we eat God’s Word. His Word

is life—relevant for every situation

we are facing. His Word is inex-

haustible, infallible, unchangeable,

and applicable to every issue in our

lives and in the world. The Bible re-

minds us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17:

All Scripture is God-breathed [given by

divine inspiration] and is profitable for

instruction, for conviction [of sin], for

correction [of error and restoration to

obedience], for training in righteousness

[learning to live in conformity to God’s

will, both publicly and privately—

behaving honorably with personal integ-

rity and moral courage]; so that the man

of God may be complete and proficient,

outfitted and thoroughly equipped for

every good work.

Every answer for every problem is

found in God alone. When you begin

to meditate on His Word daily (recite

it, sing it, turn it over-and-over in

your mind until it becomes a living

part of you), you will be amazed by

the changes you see within, AND the

changes that occur without! Below

are a few of my favorite verses.

Ephesians 6:10-13

Acts 3:19-21

Philippians 4:4-7

May they encourage you to continue

the good fight of faith!

Where is Your Faith? Wandra Johnson

There are times when we encounter great difficulties that we question whether God will do certain things in our lives. Things go from bad to worse; time is passing by, so we think about other possible solutions we will make just in case things don’t pan out. We begin gathering our emotions, reaching out to others to ensure we are well-prepared for an undesired outcome. However, when the Lord looks at this, it might be viewed that we are demonstrat-ing a lack of faith. God’s word encourages us to walk by faith despite the hard times we face; regardless of what the situation dictates. You may be walking through a difficult time right now; and you’re mak-ing preparations for things not to work out. Why not wait on the Lord, and ex-pect God to perform a miracle just for you? He has not forgotten you; He still has time to move.

Hebrews: 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hear what the Lord says:

Wait on Me. Have faith in Me, and know

that I am faithful. It’s never too late for

Me to do the impossible in your life. Why

would you pray, and then expect things

not to work out? Why didn’t you pray

and believe in Me for a miracle? I thought

needing a miracle was why you prayed in

My name.

I am your provider, and I am well able to

take care of you. There will be times

when I allow you to experience difficul-

ty. However, do not be dismayed when

this happens; for I already have a plan in

place to deliver you. Trust in Me. I want

you to experience My faithfulness person-

ally. I want you to experience My mighty

hand of deliverance in your life so that

you will bear witness to others that I am

faithful.

Wait on Me; believe in Me, I will do

things in such an amazing way that it will

bring glory to My name, and have you

singing praise forever. Where is your

faith? Repent and put your faith in Him

once again.

WHERE IS GOD? By Rev.R.Peek

We are constantly being bombarded

with the question, “WHERE IS

GOD?” This is due to the increase of

public violence! With just Sunday the

17th, the most recent act has occurred.

The measure of this violence has

reached the extreme point of the me-

dia- our reporting news casts are us-

ing the titles as AMBUSH and AS-

SASSINATIONS to describe the inci-

dents! This wave of violence is flow-

ing across America. We wrote this

poem:

WITH BULLETS FLYING: CHIL-

DREN CRYING: PEOPLE DYING:

BOMBS BOOMING:

WHERE IS GOD? WHAT IS HE

DOING?

“There shall not any man be able to

stand before thee all the days of thy

life: as I was with Moses, so I will be

with thee: I will not fail thee, nor for-

sake thee.” Joshua 1:5 Brothers and

sisters and unbelievers, this is one of

God’s most valuable promise to us!

He will NEVER forsake us! We are

asked if this is so, why are all the vio-

lent acts in the world happening? It

doesn’t matter if we are in prison, in a

nursing home, at work or eating at a

neighborhood restaurant. WHY?

WHY? WHY? Mmmmmmmm.

Good question.

“I call heaven and earth to record this

day against you, that I have set before

you life and death, blessing and curs-

ing: therefore choose life, that both

thou and thy seed may live: Deuter-

onomy 30:19 WHAT? CHOOSE?

Brothers and Sisters; God is giving us

a C H O I C E? Yes, God has given

mankind F R E E D O M- O F- C H

O I C E from the very beginning,

henceforth the bite of the forbidden

fruit by Adam and Eve. THE AN-

SWER to the question of “WHY are

these acts happening?” is because--

Somebody chose to pick up a shank,

or a gun, instead of picking up the

Bible! Stop just one moment, look at

your bible. Within that book of God’s

Word lives all the answers to life. Got

a problem? Is that shank or gun really

the solution to the problem? Or are

they just keys to unlock the door to

more problems? Those of us who

grew up in the hood, it’s just a way of

life. But God gives us the choice to

start over. No matter what you have

gone or going through Jesus carried

the Cross on His shoulders so that we

all can start over!

“The thief cometh not, but to steal,

and to kill, and to destroy: I am come

that they might have life, and that

might have it more abundantly.” John

10:10 Here is the source of the vio-

lent activities across America and the

world. The thief, the Devil himself

roams rapidly in these last days of the

last days. Of course his henchmen

Hate, chaos, greed, covetousness

along with the rest of his evil spirits

are hard at work too! Mankind’s free-

dom of choice enters in to “play” here

if we dare use that word for such a

serious situation. Those who choose

to follow the thief, will steal, will kill,

and will destroy such as he. Hence-

forth picking up that shank, gun, or

some form of weapon, they steal oth-

ers joy, they kill others loved ones,

and they destroy others world! Thus

bringing curses upon their life and

possibly curses on their generation(s)

to follow! We who choose to follow

God, have life and have life in an

abundant measure. Of course there is

crazy, chaotic, raging storms causing

moments of regret, hardship, and dis-

appointment. But when we Let Go of

our brokenness and Give it to God,

we are put back together in His way

making us MORE valuable! Let Him

rain His blessings upon us and our

generations to follow. See we serve

an AWESOME God.

We choose to open the flood gates of

heaven!

You’ve Been Carrying Her for Five Miles

Pastor Glynn Davis

Years ago I came across this true story

that spoke volumes to me and caused

me to look inside; to see what I may

be still carrying that I should have left

behind.

Five monks had taken the vow of si-

lence and the vow to never touch a

woman. One day as they prepared to

cross a river, a woman was trying to

get across and was about to be swept

away. One of the monks reached out

and caught the woman by the arm and

pulled her to safety.

The monks then crossed the river and

went on in silence. After they had

gone about 5 miles, the other four

monks looked at the one who had

touched the woman. “I can’t believe

you broke your vow and touched that

woman.” The monk answered, “I left

her on the other side of the river,

you’ve been carrying her for the past 5

miles.”

It would be amazing it we could actu-

ally see all that we are carrying; in our

hearts and our minds. What if God

had a way to x-ray the un-forgiveness,

condemnation, fear, pain, and loneli-

ness in our lives. If we were to step on

heaven’s scales, we might be shocked

at how much we really weigh. Not to

mention un-repented sins.

That is why the Bible tells us many

times to forgive, to cast our care upon

Christ, to lay aside the weights and sin

that so easily besets us or weighs us

down.

The good news is God does have an

amazing way of allowing us to look in

to the mirror of His Word; and see

ourselves. He then offers grace, mer-

cy, peace, love and forgiveness to all

who ask and are willing to truly cast

our care on Jesus!

Does God Love Me?

What does the Bible Say?

Does God know me?

“Before I (God) formed you in the womb I knew you,” (Jeremiah 1:5a)

Does God love me?

“For God so loved the world (YOU) that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“But God demonstrates his own love for US in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Am I a sinner?

“Therefore, by the offense of one (Adam) judgment came upon all man to condemnation…For as by one man’s disobe-dience (Adam) many were made sinners.” (Romans 5:17, 18)

“For ALL HAVE SINNED and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:8-10)

Is there a penalty for sin?

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

How can I get to heaven?

“Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

How can I accept Jesus as my Savior and escape his Judgment?

“Here I (Jesus) am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him.” (Revelation 3:20a)

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord (Jesus) shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)

“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9 & 10)

Prayer of Salvation

Father God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe in you and I believe your word is not only true, but life giving. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he died on the cross so that I may receive forgiveness of my sins. I know without you in my heart I cannot enter into your kingdom and will be eternally separated from you because of my sin. I recognize that no matter how good I am I cannot be good enough to earn my way to heaven. I understand the only way is through Christ Jesus who laid down his life for me on the cross. I know it is only because of what Jesus did for me that I can be forgiven of my sins.

I know in my heart Lord that you died on the cross to pay the price for every sin I ever committed. I believe you not only rose from the dead after 3 days, but that you rose victorious over death so that I can have eternal life and have life here on earth more abundantly according to your word (bible). Lord Jesus, please forgive me, for every sin I have ever committed. Jesus come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior today.

Jesus, I dedicate my whole life to you from this moment on; I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Congratulations if you made the decision to give your life to Christ!

In order to grow in your relationship with Christ you need to:

1. Pray - Prayer is how we communicate with God

2. Read the Bible - God speaks to us through his word

3. Attend Church - Being connected to a church helps us grow in our faith when we worship God with other believers.

Falta la marca por Scott Taylor

Pronto después de la preparatoria, mi

entusiasmo creció para una carrera en el

campo aeronáutico, donde fui a trabajar para

una empresa que fabrica piezas para aviones

militares y comerciales.

aviones. A menudo encuentro mirando

No

Hace varios años mi esposa y yo tomamos

Me

pregunto si mis decisiones y opciones, que

va a tener resultados catastróficos o si puedo

correcta.

tu marca.

ciervo muerto y comenzó a comer.

pensado, "tengo un montón de tiempo;

costosa comida!" Pecado viene primero a la

puerta de nuestras vidas como extraños

espera conseguir en. Una vez que los

invitamos en calidad de invitados, que

sentirse cómodos con ellos y empezar a

disfrutar de su compañía. La tragedia es que

pecado deje finalmente de ser amigos y

convertirse en amos de nuestras vidas.

Debemos aprender a odiar el pecado como

Dios lo hace.

¿Dios Me ama? ¿Qué es lo que dice la Biblia?

¿Dios me conoce?

¿Dios me ama?

Amen.
