to be fitted to the extension area, exhaust fans to be fitted, so there is still a
bit to be done.

are included in this newsletter.
We need to fit and connect our third security camera to the back
door area and fit new door locks and handles where needed.

11th – 13th which is not far away. Please let me know if you want to go
as we need numbers for tickets and transport arrangements, Saturday 13th
is preferred.
Kidsfest will be the week after 19th and 20th September. Please
give your support when you can, names on whiteboard.

TOY WORKING BEE 25-7-15
With the machine room in disarray due to the dust extraction update, movement
around machines is a bit restricted at the moment but we still managed to make headway
with our toy making. We look to be fairly well prepared for the kids fest but we must
keep our level up as we need toys for Christmas. Several members worked on various
toys, wheels being dressed, tool tray nail holes being pre drilled, turning blanks being
machined to size, cutting out and sanding of bits and pieces noughts and crosses boards
being made to name but a few. Thirteen members enjoyed a great lunch and morning tea
also afternoon tea thanks to Glenda And Greg. I need to have a count of all our toys and
parts to see what we are missing for kids fest and for Christmas, thanks to members who
attended

RIVERSIDE PLAZA School holiday toy making program for kids.
Friday 3-7-15 – Saturday 4th— Sunday 5th
Also Friday 10th – Saturday 11th
11am to 2pm each day
Having the use of an empty shop made our days at Riverside Plaza a lot easier
than being in the walkway area that we had done previous years. Having to be
open at 11am on the first day meant an early start for the first day, up to the club
and load up all the gear, lathe, lathe tools, leads, bench, pyro machine, finished
toys and boxes and boxes and baxes of toy kits and all the necessary tools that go
with them.
Thanks to those members who helped with the loading up, down the road to
Riverside Plaza unload and set up in a nice air conditioned environment . Bench
for toy making, table for pyrography, four tables for finished toys and members
items for sale, table for toy kits and the lathe near the front door to create an
attraction. Our club exhibition banners with club details on them were both in use
along with our pointing man with his sign attached “hey kids come and make a
toy with the woodies”. We were busy at times with 2 or three kids making toys
other times we were looking for the kids.
The five sessions were well attended with 11 to 13 club members on deck each
day with visits from other club members checking on progress and to see if we
needed any help. 247 names were burnt on made toys, the 2 fridays were th
busiest, quieter on the Saturday but still good and very slow on Sunday. With the
sale of finished painted toys, donations, sale of members own items and the
Copulos group paying us to be there it is certainly a worthwhile exercise.
Thankyou Len Taylor.
