A. This Addendum shall be considered part of the contract documents for the above-mentioned project as though it had

been issued at the same time and incorporated integrally therewith. Where provisions of the following supplementary

data differ from those of the original contract documents, this Addendum shall govern and take precedence.

B. Proposers are hereby notified that they shall make any necessary adjustments in their estimate on account of this

Addendum. It will be construed that each Proposer’s proposal is submitted with full knowledge of all modifications and

supplemental data specified therein. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space provided on the proposal

PART 2 - PRODUCTS2.01 MANUFACTURERS

A. Acceptable fabricator shall be members in good standing of the Architectural WoodworkInstitute (AWI/AWMAC/WI).

2.02 DEFINITIONSA. Exposed portions of include surfaces visible when doors and drawers are closed. Bottoms of

cases more than 4'-0” above floor shall be considered as exposed. Visible members in opencases or behind full glass doors also shall be considered as exposed portions.

B. Semi-exposed portions of casework includes those members behind opaque doors or framedglass doors, such as shelves, dividers, interior face of ends, case back, drawer sides, backsand bottoms, and back face of doors.

C. Concealed portions of casework include sleepers, dust panels and other surfaces not usuallyvisible after installation. Tops of cases 6'-6” or more above floor shall be considered concealed.

2.10 FABRICATIONA. Cabinet Style: Reveal overlay.B. Cabinet Doors and Drawer Fronts: Flush style.C. Drawer Construction Technique: Lock shoulder joints.D. Base Cabinets shall be 2'-0" deep unless noted otherwise on the drawings.E. Upper Wall Cabinets shall be 1'-2" deep unless noted otherwise on the drawings.F. Fabricate all drawers boxes using 1/2" inch, 9-ply laminated hardwood plywood. The top edges

of the drawer box sides and back are radiused. Drawer bottom is let in on four sides, andsecurely glued underneath with a continuous bead of glue around the perimeter of the drawerbottom. Additional bottom braces are used on drawers over 24" wide. All components haveone coat of clear waterproof sealer. Drawer boxes are screw-attached to separate drawerfronts.

G. Assembly: Shop assemble cabinets for delivery to site in units easily handled and to permitpassage through building openings.

H. Edging: Fit shelves, doors, and exposed edges with specified edging. Do not use more thanone piece for any single length.

I. Fitting: When necessary to cut and fit on site, provide materials with ample allowance forcutting. Provide matching trim for scribing and site cutting.

J. Plastic Laminate: Apply plastic laminate finish in full uninterrupted sheets consistent withmanufactured sizes. Fit corners and joints hairline; secure with concealed fasteners. Locatecounter butt joints minimum 2 feet from sink cut-outs.1. Apply laminate backing sheet to reverse side of plastic laminate finished surfaces.2. Cap exposed plastic laminate finish edges with material of same finish and pattern.

K. Matching Wood Grain: Comply with requirements of quality standard for specified Grade and asfollows:1. Provide center matched panels at each elevation.2. Provide sequence matching across each elevation.

3. Carry figure of cabinet fronts to toe kicks.L. Mechanically fasten back splash to countertops with steel brackets at 16 inches on center.M. Provide cutouts for plumbing fixtures. Verify locations of cutouts from on-site dimensions. Seal

cut edges.2.11 FACTORY FINISHING

A. Sand work smooth and set exposed nails and screws.B. On items to receive transparent finishes, use wood filler matching or blending with surrounding

surfaces and of types recommended for applied finishes.C. Finish work in accordance with AWI/AWMAC/WI (AWS) Premium Quality.D. Stain exposed-to-view surfaces.E. Stain semi-exposed-to-view surfaces.F. Seal surfaces in contact with cementitious materials.G. Finish cabinets to match approved finish of factory-finished flush wood doors.H. The cabinet manufacturer shall obtain an approved door finish sample prior to beginning site

finishing of cabinets.I. Protect all hardware and other pre-finished materials from finish materials.

PART 3 - EXECUTION3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Verify adequacy of backing and support framing.B. Verify location and sizes of utility rough-in associated with work of this section.

3.02 INSTALLATIONA. Set and secure custom cabinets in place, assuring that they are rigid, plumb, and level.B. Use fixture attachments in concealed locations for wall mounted components.C. Use concealed joint fasteners to align and secure adjoining cabinet units and countertops.D. Where required, assemble units into one integral unit with joints flush, tight, and uniform. Align

similar adjoining doors and drawers to a tolerance of 1/16 inch.E. Carefully scribe casework abutting other components, with maximum gaps of 1/32 inch. Do not

use additional overlay trim for this purpose.F. Secure cabinets and counter bases to floor using appropriate angles and anchorages.G. Countersink anchorage devices at exposed locations. Conceal with solid wood plugs of species

to match surrounding wood; finish flush with surrounding surfaces.H. Seal between cabinets and walls with a clear permanently elastic sealing compound
