Shri B.Surender Mohan, CMD, delivered his first address and shared his Vision with Senior

Executives of NLC, representatives of Trade Unions, Associations & Welfare Associations at

Employee Development Centre Auditorium on 09.07.2012. NLC Directors, Shri R.Kandasamy, Shri

J.Mahilselvan, Shri S.K.Acharya and Shri.Rakesh Kumar attended the function. The

representatives of recognized unions and associations assured full cooperation and support from

the employees in realizing the Vision of NLC.

First Board meeting after assuming charge as CMD of NLC by Shri B. Surender Mohan, was

held at Neyveli on 27.07.12. Official part time Director Smt.Zohra Chatterji, Additional Secretary,

MoC, Govt. of India, Non-official part time Directors Shri L.N.Vijayaragavan, Shri.A.P.V.N.Sarma,

Shri.M.M.Sharma, Shri.R.K.Mishra and Shri.V.Murali have visited Mine I afforestation, Mine I & TSI

Expansion and witnessed the growth of NLC and they were received by CMD and functional

Directors. CMD and all Directors have planted tree saplings in Mine I afforestation area.

Hon'ble Mr.Justice Shri.A.Kulasekaran, (Retd) & Chairman, Railway Rates Tribunal of India

was the Chief Guest for the valediction of 15th Neyveli Book Fair on 08.07.2012. Shri B.Surender

Mohan, CMD presided over the function and it is the first public function for him after assuming charge

as CMD of NLC. He extended the book fair for 2 more days considering the peoples' request. Functional

Directors, Representatives of Unions and Associations, senior officials and employees participated in

the function. Around 3 lakh people visited this book fair and purchased books worth 2 crore.

A review meeting on Integrity Pact was held on 11.07.2012 at Neyveli House,

Chennai. Independent External Monitors Shri Pradeep Kumar Banerji, IAS, Shri

R.Poornalingam, IAS & Shri D.Mukharjee, IPS, participated in the review meeting along with

Shri R.Kandasamy, Director (P&P) & Director Mines (ic) and Shri S.K.Acharya, Director

(HR). Shri R.Srinivasan, CGM/Contracts, Shri J.Hariharakumar, GM/Vigilance & senior

officials participated. As many as 40 executives from different units interacted with the

Independent External Monitors & NLC Directors on effective implementation of Integrity

Pact. Independent External Monitors have expressed their atmost satisfaction in NLC's

transparent business dealings.

Ms.S.Rajani, Principal Director, Office of the Principal Director, C & AG, Chennai

visited NLC on 09.07.2012. Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director (Finance) of NLC has welcomed her

at the corporate office. A brain storming session was held in which Director (HR) and Director

(Power) participated along with CGM/Finance and other finance officials. Director (Finance)

gave a presentation about the functioning of NLC and briefed the issues thereon.

25 students of Jawahar Higher Secondary School, Neyveli were honoured by Shri B. Surender

Mohan, CMD and Chief Patron of Neyveli Telugu Samithi, as they have been qualified in the All India

level IIT Joint Entrance Examinations, (IITJEE) seeking admission in the Indian Institutes of

Technology.

With an intention of bringing out IITians from Neyveli, this school was started in 2005 in

co-ordination with Jawahar Educational Society and Neyveli Telugu Samithi. 68 students have

been got selected for IITs, NITs and BITS since 2007.

Smt. Swarnakumari Surender Mohan, Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, Director(HR), Smt. Yoga

Maya Acharya, Shri K. Veeraprasad, CGM/Conveyor & SME and President of Neyveli Telugu Samithi,

Smt.Shalini Veera Prasad, Smt. Sethu Mani, Vice Principal of Jawahar Higher Secondary School,

Block-5 & Office bearers of the School Committee of the Telugu Samithi participated in the event. Shri

Sheik Abdul Rahman, Secretary, Shri Subbha Rao, Treasurer and Shri K.Raja Ravi, Executive

Committee Member, all of Telugu Samithi Educational Academy co-ordinated the function. During the

function, the Vice Principal, Teachers and Staff were also honoured.

th nd25 Tamil Nadu State Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship & 2 Tamil Nadu State Poomsae

Taekwondo Championship was organized at Neyveli on 29.07.2012. Around 1200 participants

from 27 districts of Tamil Nadu have participated in the competition. Shri. B.Surender Mohan,

CMD/NLC, distributed the Prizes & Medals to the winners of the competitions. Shri.S.K.Acharya,

Director(HR)/NLC, Shri.N.Ilamparithi, GM/MM, Shri.N.Muthu, GM/HR and senior officials

participated in the function.

A mega “Blood Donation Camp”, was jointly organized by Blood Bank of NLC GH, Junior

Chamber International (JCI), Neyveli, Blood Bank of Cuddalore GH and Neyveli Blood Donors thAssociation on 6 July at Narayanaguru Hall, Block-12, Neyveli. Around 106 units of whole blood were

donated by voluntary donors. Dr. P.T. Shanmugasundaram, Chief General Superintendent/Medical,

NLC GH has graced the function as Chief Guest.
