EASE OF MAINTENANCE

The standard version of the electro-pump unit embodies the normalsemi-flexible coupling. Upon request, this coupling can be supplied witha spacer. The use of the semi-flexible coupling with spacer allows easyaccess to the pump interior without the need to remove the pipes or themotor.

After removing the spacer, the assembly made up of the support, coverand impeller is removed, the pump casing and the motor alwaysremaining attached to the bed-plate. The suction and discharge pipesremain connected.

In this way, maintenance is easier for these pumps that are workingduring industrial processes.

DESCRIPTION

The NL range of pumps are single-stage horizontal centrifugalpumps, with axial suction and radial discharge, built to StandardISO-2858 (DIN-22858), evolved as a result to applying technologicalinnovation to the design and manufacture of the pumps for industrialprocesses.

These pumps are based on the sturdy design of NM series (mediumduty), and they are designed to work in processes with divers types ofliquids and with appropriate materials and mechanical seal. The charac-teristics of the NL Series are:

- High hydraulic efficiency.- Sturdy design (24/24 hours).- Wide variety of materials available, according to the liquid being pumping.- Different sealing systems with standardized channels.- Different seal cooling plans.- Modular pumps (component versatility).- Standardized parts with high degree of interchangeability.- Minimal and rapid maintenance.

Although these pumps are normally driven by electric motor mounted ona bed frame, other power drive sources may be used (diesel engine,steam turbine, hydraulic motor, ...).

APPLICATIONS

The NL Series of ITUR Pumps has been specially conceived for thepumping of a wide variety of liquids, generally without, or with slightsuspended matter, such as:

- Clean liquids- Corrosive or abrasive liquids- High density liquids- Viscous liquids

These pumps are designed for pumping systems of industrial proc-esses, where a sturdy larger margin and the reliability of the operatingare necessary. As a result, this Series is ideal in:

CONSTRUCTION

Pump casingWith volute casing and support feet, it incorporates a wear ring.The casing to cover sealing is effected by means of an embed-ded gasket.

Suction and discharge flangesIntegrally cast with the casing, constructed of GG-25 to DIN-2533, and of steel to DIN-2543, crackle-finished "RF" to DIN-2526 form C. Valid for connecting to commercial flanges DINPN-16. Optionally the casing can be supplied with other types offlanges (ANSI, BS, DIN-2512, etc.).

Auxiliary connectionsThe standard version carries vent, drain, seal circulation,pressure and vacuum gauge connections. All of these drilledand closed off with the corresponding covers.

Pump coverCasting in one piece, and independent of the seal design, itincorporates several extractors in order to facilitate its removal.

Wear ringsAll models incorporate a wear ring in the casing, in order tofacilitate repairs and make them cheaper.

ImpellerClosed impeller, cast in one piece, hydraulically and dynami-cally balanced, with dorsal fins in order to balance out the axialthrust and to avoid the sedimentation of some suspended matterwhich are carried together with the liquid. It is keyed to the shaftand locked by means of a double nut.

Pump shaftWell dimensioned, the shaft is especially resistant to bending. Itis provided with a replaceable shaft sleeve, sealed with theshaft itself by means of a toroidal seal. Thus, changing the shaftcan be avoided, in the case of wear or abrasion in the sealingarea, achieving rapid, cheap maintenance. Included is a deflec-tor next to the support in order to protect the ingress of liquid.

Bearing supportOf modern design, it incorporates two total double seal ballbearings, with grease for its entire lifespan and as such itsmaintenance is not required during normal operation. Thebearing protection against external agents (water, dust, ...) iseffected by means of the lip seal.

Standard sealing systemsA wide variety of sealing systems can be incorporated, accordingto the type of liquid to be pumped. The NL Series of ITUR Pumpshas for the standard version, provision for the following possibilities:

����� PackingAsbestos-free, provided with the corresponding lantern.Cooling Plan API-11.

����� Simple mechanical DIN sealStandardized to DIN-24960, on the long version with lockingpin and choke ring. The material used in the contacting facesdepends upon the liquid to be pumped.Cooling Plan API-11/61.

����� Simple DIN balanced mechanical sealStandardized to DIN-24960, on the long version with lockingpin and choke ring. Balancing is used when the pressuregenerated in the pump requires it. The material used in thecontacting faces depends upon the liquid to be pumped.Cooling Plan API-11/61.

����� DIN double mechanical seal ("back to back")Standardized to DIN-24960, on the short version with locking pinonly on the process side, and choke ring. The material used in thecontacting faces depends upon the liquid to be pumped.Cooling Plan API-54.

Optional sealing systemsThe NL Series allows for the inclusion, on request, of the othertypes of shaft sealing:

����� External mechanical sealOf type 10 T without protective screen or safety ring.

����� Mechanical seal, not to DINSeals with conform to special standards or which are ofspecial sizes.

Baseplate and couplingThe driving of the pump by the motor is effected via a semi-flexible coupling. The assembly is mounted on a baseplatestandardized to ITUR. Optionally the coupling can be suppliedwith a spacer, which allows easy access to the pump interiorwithout the need to remove the pipes or the motor. In this case,the baseplate is constructed according to ISO-3661.

PARTS INTERCHANGEABILITY

The Standardization of parts and materials involves an important advancein the modularization of the pump and the versatility of its components.

For this reason, in the NL Series it has been possible to attain a highnumber of parts, common and interchangeable, between the differentmodels of pumps.

The component parts listed in the upper part of the Table are standardand interchangeable between the different sizes of pumps appearing inthe left-hand column provided that the same letter and colour are shownin the corresponding box.

The advantage of this standardization rests on the fact that a minimumstock of parts ensures the efficient maintenance of many differentmodels of pumps.

PARTS INTERCHANGEABILITY

The Standardization of parts and materials involves an important advancein the modularization of the pump and the versatility of its components.

For this reason, in the NL Series it has been possible to attain a highnumber of parts, common and interchangeable, between the differentmodels of pumps.

The component parts listed in the upper part of the Table are standardand interchangeable between the different sizes of pumps appearing inthe left-hand column provided that the same letter and colour are shownin the corresponding box.

The advantage of this standardization rests on the fact that a minimumstock of parts ensures the efficient maintenance of many differentmodels of pumps.

CONSTRUCTION

Pump casingWith volute casing and support feet, it incorporates a wear ring.The casing to cover sealing is effected by means of an embed-ded gasket.

Suction and discharge flangesIntegrally cast with the casing, constructed of GG-25 to DIN-2533, and of steel to DIN-2543, crackle-finished "RF" to DIN-2526 form C. Valid for connecting to commercial flanges DINPN-16. Optionally the casing can be supplied with other types offlanges (ANSI, BS, DIN-2512, etc.).

Auxiliary connectionsThe standard version carries vent, drain, seal circulation,pressure and vacuum gauge connections. All of these drilledand closed off with the corresponding covers.

Pump coverCasting in one piece, and independent of the seal design, itincorporates several extractors in order to facilitate its removal.

Wear ringsAll models incorporate a wear ring in the casing, in order tofacilitate repairs and make them cheaper.

ImpellerClosed impeller, cast in one piece, hydraulically and dynami-cally balanced, with dorsal fins in order to balance out the axialthrust and to avoid the sedimentation of some suspended matterwhich are carried together with the liquid. It is keyed to the shaftand locked by means of a double nut.

Pump shaftWell dimensioned, the shaft is especially resistant to bending. Itis provided with a replaceable shaft sleeve, sealed with theshaft itself by means of a toroidal seal. Thus, changing the shaftcan be avoided, in the case of wear or abrasion in the sealingarea, achieving rapid, cheap maintenance. Included is a deflec-tor next to the support in order to protect the ingress of liquid.

Bearing supportOf modern design, it incorporates two total double seal ballbearings, with grease for its entire lifespan and as such itsmaintenance is not required during normal operation. Thebearing protection against external agents (water, dust, ...) iseffected by means of the lip seal.

Standard sealing systemsA wide variety of sealing systems can be incorporated, accordingto the type of liquid to be pumped. The NL Series of ITUR Pumpshas for the standard version, provision for the following possibilities:

����� DIN double mechanical seal ("back to back")Standardized to DIN-24960, on the short version with locking pinonly on the process side, and choke ring. The material used in thecontacting faces depends upon the liquid to be pumped.Cooling Plan API-54.

Optional sealing systemsThe NL Series allows for the inclusion, on request, of the othertypes of shaft sealing:

����� External mechanical sealOf type 10 T without protective screen or safety ring.

����� Mechanical seal, not to DINSeals with conform to special standards or which are ofspecial sizes.

Baseplate and couplingThe driving of the pump by the motor is effected via a semi-flexible coupling. The assembly is mounted on a baseplatestandardized to ITUR. Optionally the coupling can be suppliedwith a spacer, which allows easy access to the pump interiorwithout the need to remove the pipes or the motor. In this case,the baseplate is constructed according to ISO-3661.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE

The standard version of the electro-pump unit embodies the normalsemi-flexible coupling. Upon request, this coupling can be supplied witha spacer. The use of the semi-flexible coupling with spacer allows easyaccess to the pump interior without the need to remove the pipes or themotor.

After removing the spacer, the assembly made up of the support, coverand impeller is removed, the pump casing and the motor alwaysremaining attached to the bed-plate. The suction and discharge pipesremain connected.

In this way, maintenance is easier for these pumps that are workingduring industrial processes.

DESCRIPTION

The NL range of pumps are single-stage horizontal centrifugalpumps, with axial suction and radial discharge, built to StandardISO-2858 (DIN-22858), evolved as a result to applying technologicalinnovation to the design and manufacture of the pumps for industrialprocesses.

These pumps are based on the sturdy design of NM series (mediumduty), and they are designed to work in processes with divers types ofliquids and with appropriate materials and mechanical seal. The charac-teristics of the NL Series are:

- High hydraulic efficiency.- Sturdy design (24/24 hours).- Wide variety of materials available, according to the liquid being pumping.- Different sealing systems with standardized channels.- Different seal cooling plans.- Modular pumps (component versatility).- Standardized parts with high degree of interchangeability.- Minimal and rapid maintenance.

Although these pumps are normally driven by electric motor mounted ona bed frame, other power drive sources may be used (diesel engine,steam turbine, hydraulic motor, ...).

APPLICATIONS

The NL Series of ITUR Pumps has been specially conceived for thepumping of a wide variety of liquids, generally without, or with slightsuspended matter, such as:
