Consensus• IEC 61968 CIM alignment

• Reuse where appropriate from published DR components with IEC 61968 CIM family for PAP9 work

• If someone is developing extensions, submit them to IEC (TC57) for approval (loopback)

• Incorporate where appropriate from OpenADR-OASIS• Common semantic model for inter-domain interfaces

• Scope boundaries fuzzy (need to solve)• How deep do the definitions (semantics vs. syntax) go? (need to

solve)• Utility commitment to IEC 61968 CIM family becomes a boundary

requirement• Tactical: Need a mechanism for a joint TF to allow parties from each

organization to participate in effort and share work products

Members of Energy InteroperationTC Attending

• These members of the EITC attended the NIST meeting:– Ed Cazalet– Toby Considine– William Cox– Girish Ghatikar– David Holmberg– Jeremy Roberts

• OASIS Staff– James Bryce Clark

Affect on Energy InteroperationTC Planning

• Requirements– Better and broader input (ISO, UCA, utilities)– Better focus– Not universal

• Need facility input (have from membership)• Need industrial, home, other input (limited)

– Need appropriate level• Review current draft (elsewhere in the agenda)

Action Plan Explanation• The phrases “residential” and “C&I” are shorthand for what

Toby and others call “Managed” and “Collaborative” energy

• “Managed Energy” refers to a direct load control-type approach, as exemplified in OpenHAN and ZigBee Smart Energy Profile– Though there are information aspects as well

• The EITC is doing Collaborative Energy• The responsibilities listed are EITC; target for work and

review is the IEC CIM team. • The EITC is doing more than just the work in PAP09

– That work is also in liaison process with IEC TC57 and other TCs

Other Action Items

• Vocabulary– Under way, need to work with NAESB and other

vocabulary efforts• “Downstream user requirements” are not

well-represented in NAESB Requirements Process– Action on EITC members to engage– Action for I2G DEWG and others to engage– Separate slides on NAESB draft input
