both larger and smaller

Today countries are being bought rather than dealing with war or using weapons

Siberia has become vast green fields that China has take upon itself to use and grow their own crops on, extending its borders in the same way it was done hundreds of years ago

The World’s Powers

China has built strong trading relations with all of its neighbors but it focuses more on Japan, Korea and Australia who are the U.S.’s allies

China has become a strong diplomatic power in its part of the world

Iraq’s oil is what used to hold it together but he believes it will soon be non-existent

Kotkin U.S. is growing rapidly

By 2050, America’s population will increase to four hundred million

He believes this is a sign that the U.S. will keep its economic strength

Suburbs will increase, the type of suburbia will be different from 1950

Suburbs will be less reliant on the major cities for jobs which will lead to a more energy efficient lifestyle

Changes

Jobs will be in suburbs more

Cars will become more fuel-efficient, however America will never fully give up its car use

Only 2% of the U.S. uses its mass transit currently

More and more immigrants will flood into America and cause all non-white to become the majority

Non-Hispanic whites will become a minority
