INTRODUCTION
Pull system is also known as j I t(just in time). Jit manufacturing philosophy involving a integrated set of producers /activities designed to achieve a volume of production using minimal inventories.
A highly coordinated processing system in which goods move through the system and service are performed, just as they needed.
HISTORY
Evolved in Japan after world war II, as a result of their diminishing the market share in auto industry.
Founded by Taiichi ohno ,a vice president of Toyota . Basically implemented in Toyota plant in 1950,well
established in 1970.
7 wastes of PULL SYSTEM
Waste of over production. Waste of waiting. Waste of transportation. Waste of Underutilization of Employees. Waste of inventory. Waste of motion. Waste of making defective products.
Principles of PULL SYSTEM production
Total quality management
Seek long term commitment. Quality must be higher priority than the cost. Minimize waste.
