Selecting Markets Use the Market page to select one or more markets for your report.
To select Markets:
1. From the main menu, click Report Builder.
2. From the Specifications panel, click Market.
3. From the Market Type drop-down list, select one of the following market types to filter the Available Markets list:
All Markets - Displays all 211 markets (National Market + 210 local markets) in rank order.
Based on your access rights, you may see a subset of the 211 markets. This is the default view.
Full Discovery Markets (FDM) - Displays the 129 FDM markets (National Market + 128 local markets)
listed in rank order. Based on your access rights, you may see a subset of the 129 markets.
FDM markets are those markets where all commercial activity is monitored.
Automated Discovery Markets (ADM) - Displays the 82 ADM local markets listed in rank order. Based on your access rights,
you may see a subset of the 82 markets. ADM markets are those markets where reporting is limited to registered spots.
Spots become registered when they are captured in any FDM market or appear on national television. Since the activity
in the ADM markets includes occurrences for only those commercials seen elsewhere, it will not include occurrences of
commercials airing exclusively in these smaller markets.
Custom Markets - Displays the user-defined markets (if any) listed in alphabetical order. Custom markets are created
by you or someone within your user circle or business entity. For example, a custom group titled My Radio Markets can
report several markets as a single, reportable market group.
Saved Market List - Displays user-defined lists of markets that you or someone in your circle or business entity has already
selected and saved with a unique name. For example, a list titled My Florida Markets might contain Tampa, Orlando, and
West Palm Beach. Selecting this saved list populates the Available Markets list with the markets saved in the list.
4. From the Available Markets list, move markets to the Selected Markets list.
5. Once you have completed your selections, click Next.
Note You can select any combination of Standard, FDM, ADM, and Custom Markets available to you.
If you select one or more custom markets, the Report on Custom Market Components check box becomes
available. Select this option to report each market within the custom market individually. In order to report
on individual market detail, Market must be a row or a column in your report.
Note If you select a saved list, and one or more of the items within the list are not relevant for the current
report spec, a message notifies you that one or more items within the list have been hidden and will not display.
For example, if you are running a report for New York for Spot TV, and select a distributor list that includes
Magazine distributors, the magazine distributors will not display in the Available list box.

6. Click the Sorts & Constraints tab, and then specify the following report settings. This tab is available when
Distributor, Market, Media Type, Report Period, or Local Allocation is selected as a column in the Report Layout page.
For all other layouts, this tab is disabled.
Note You may submit a report without applying the following sorts or constraints. For more view the
Sorts & Constaints software tip. To submit your report without applying a specific sort or constraint, skip to Step 7.
Setting Description
Sort On The following options are only available when Distributor, Market, Media Type, Report Period, and/or Local Allocation is selected as a column in the Report Layout page. For all other layouts, this tab is disabled. Select one of the following sort options:
Alpha - Sorts alphabetically based on the selected sort direction.
Share Of - Sorts on the share of a specific measure for a given column in ascending or descending order. You must select a Report Column and a Measure to sort based on Share.
Value Of - Sorts on the value of a specific measure for a given column in ascending or descending order. You must select a Report Column and a Measure to sort based on Value.
Sort Direction Descending order (the default selection) sorts items from the largest and highest value down to the smallest and lowest value. If you change the drop-down selection to ASC, the output is sorted in ascending order. Ascending order starts from the smallest or lowest value (0, 1 or A, for example) and proceeds to the largest or highest value.
Constrain On Select one of the following constraint settings:
Share Of - Share of a specific measure for a given column specifying an operator (<, <=, >, >=, =) and a value. You can specify up to two filters by combining them with an “and/or” logic. The Share Of option is available only when the “Include Horiz. and Vert. %” option is selected.
Value Of - Value of a specific measure for a given column specifying an operator (<, <=, >, >=, =) and a value. You can specify up to two filters by combining them with an “and/or” logic.
Top ‘N’ - Top N of a specific measure for a given column specifying a value. You can specify more than one filter by combining them with an “and/or” logic.
Report Column Select a report column. This options displays when Share Of or Value Of is selected. The Report Column drop-down
displays all of the available columns in your report based on the layout selected, including a “Total” option.
Measure Select a measure. Options include all measures selected in the report specification that are valid for the selected
Report Column. Note The CPP/CPPE and CPM/CPME measures are never totaled in a report. As a result, you may
not apply a sort or constraint based on the value or share of Total CPP/CPPE, CPM/CPME.
Oper. Select an operator (=, <, < =, >, > =) to create a logical statement.
Value Enter a numeric value to complete a logical constraint statement.
And/Or Option Select “And” or “Or” to determine how a second constraint, if requested, should be treated in the report.
“And” is the default setting. You may add another constraint, but it is not required.
Check Box Selects the constraint check box so that you can remove it, clear the current selections,
or add a new constraint based on the current selection.
7. If you want to save your report spec for future use, click Save Specification.
8. Click Submit, and then click OK to confirm the action. The Report Summary page opens with the specification details.
Note If the selected sort and/or constraint is invalid based upon the selections made, an error message appears when
the report is opened in the Report Viewer. For example, Total GRPs are suppressed in cross-market reports. If you run
a cross-market report, selecting a constraint based on the Share of Total GRPs, you receive an error when the report is
viewed indicating that the constraint cannot be applied.
