Perenco, a leading independent oil & gas company operating in Africa, South America, the Middle East and Europe has began collaboration with NickCery Group International Services Plc in the domains of Industrial safety trainings. Collaboration between the oil and gas giant - Perenco and the manpower supply and safety training multinational – NickCery Group, opened up early April 2011 when officials of Perenco Cameroon contacted NickCery Group International Services to train their workers on offshore basic safety and sea survival. The first training for the workers of Per-enco took place from the 16th to the 17th of April at the regional office of NickCery Group Central, West and North Africa. For a period of two days, the employees of Perenco working offshore received in-depth knowledge

and safety project of its social responsi-bility scheme based on the preservation of the occupational safety and health of its workers and attain their goals of: no harm to people; a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel, no impact on the health and safety of our neighbours and no accidents. Workers of perenco who took part in the training session lauded the professional-ism of NickCery Group. ‘ I highly felicite the professionalism of NickCery Group, the trainers taught me a lot of things which I did not know in basic offshore and sea survival, I am confident with myself now going to work offshore and even if there is a problem, I know what to do and how to help others out. I was highly impressed with the evacuation part of the practical phase of the training. The trainings were highly professional, they tell you of a safety equipment and they show it to you. Worldwide multinational CEGELEC continue to fortify its collaboration with NickCery Group International Services Plc. Officials of the Group which has about 25,000 employees in thirty countries worldwide con-tacted NickCery Group to train their workers on defensive driving for four wheel drive cars. The first phase of the training on defensive driving took place at the head offices of the cen-tral, west and north African branch of NickCery group International Ser-vices Plc situated in Douala Cameroon. The trainings brought together cege-lec drivers from around central Africa for a two day course on defensive driving. ‘This is another side of driv-ing, I have five years of driving expi-rience but I never knew I was still lacking like this on issues relating to driving. The training came at the right time. The theoretical and the practical sessions really edified me. The smith system, the use of the four wheel drive and what a four wheel drive vehicle can do where all things many of us did not know. I really appreciates NickCery Group and the quality of its trainers. I pray the company continue in like man-ner. A participant commented after the practical phase of the training. Chris. Official of Alcatel-Lucent hold that the trainings with NickCery Group Interna-tional Services Plc will foster their social responsibility scheme which aims at sup-porting the strategic transformation of the company while promoting diversity, foster-ing skills and strengthening the common culture.

Alcatel-Lucent, a leader in mobile, fixed, IP and Optics technologies with opera-tions in more than 130 countries has renewed collaboration with NickCery Group International Services Plc as a collaborator in the provision of industrial safety trainings. The collaboration be-tween both companies received new propulsion early April 2011 after Mr. Franck DESCAMPS, Regional repre-sentative for Africa visited Cameroon for a review of great training possibilities with a renowned safety training com-pany. Following discussions with Mr. Andre PITZIANTI, the contracts and commercial development director of NickCery Group, Mr. Franck DES-CAMPS decided to renew Alcatel-Lucent’s collaboration with NickCery Group as an industrial safety training provider.

The new collaboration sparked new waves of trainings for Alcatel – Lucent workers operating around Central and West Africa. The first circle of trainees received work at height and Rescue trainings at the regional office of Nick-Cery Group Central, West and North Africa situated in Douala – Cameroon.

MTN Cameroon, the undisputed leader of mobile telephony in Cameroon, with over five million subscribers and about 63% share of the Cameroonian mobile telephony market, has confided the in-dustrial safety trainings of its workers to NickCery Group International Services Plc. MTN Cameroon’s choice of Nick-Cery as a safety training provider came after a series of negotiations between MTN Cameroon and NickCery Group International Services Plc. Marie Louise NKEMBE, an official of the Learning and Development unit of the Human resources department of MTN Cameroon said her company’s choice of NickCery Group as a safety training pro-vider is as a result of the training method-ology and contents that NickCery Group presented to MTN Cameroon. ‘ We have been training our workers with another company but this time NickCery Group Presented us with a training content and methodology which appropriately re-sponded to our needs, we had no choice but to go in for the best, that is why we chose NickCery Group to train our work-ers’. Marie Louise NKEMBE commented after the practical training session on Basic First Aid delivered to workers of MTN Cameroon from the 10th to the 11th of May 2011. To Marie Louise NKEMBE, official of the L&D/DHR/Adm department, the trainings are part of MTN Cameroon’s philosophy of developing the career and protecting the health and safety of its employees being a safety conscious employee of the undisputed leader of mobile telephony in Cameroon, she acclamated the training and express wishes to see participant practising what has been taught them. Participant during the trainings highly lauded the professionalism of the train-ers. Bureau Veritas Makes Technical And Quality Control.

Officials of Bureau Veritas, the body charge with controlling the quality of the industrial safety training centre being constructed by NickCery Group Interna-tional Services Plc and SGBC, the bank which provided a portion of the finances being use for the project, made a sec-ond visit to the centre to access the quality of materials being use to con-structs the centre and the state of ad-vancement of the project.

The visit was part of activities put in place by NickCery Group International Services Plc so as to build a world class training centre in terms of quality and safety standards. According to the agreement binding bureau Veritas and NickCery Group International Services Plc, Bureau Veritas is to be making peri-odic visits to the construction site to control the quality of materials being use for the construction works and as-serts their conformity to safety stan-dards.

During the visits officials of Bureau ap-preciated the quality of materials and the methodology being use for the con-struction of the centre. They however expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the execution of certain phases of the project. Apollinaire NINTCHEU, general Man-ager of Béton Construction, the com-pany in charge of the construction works blamed the delay on the geo-technical works carried out by a subcon-tractor of Béton Construction and the solid nature of the terrain on which the centre is being constructed. He as-serted that the most difficult phase of the project has been done. ‘We have succeeded in breaking the bed rock that covered the entire land where the cen-tre is to be built, that took us one month. We have mounted cranes. The swim-ming pool and the office building are being constructed simultaneously’. Said Apollinaire

During the joint visit, officials of SGBC went round to verify the materials al-ready installed in the construction site, they appreciated the electrical installa-tions, the blocks already fabricated, the mounting of the crane and the level of execution of the project. ‘looking at the state of advancement of the project, I realise that an important portion of the funds we provided have already been used. The crane and other installations here are really great. What is important to us is to see into it that the money we give out serve the purpose for which it is given out. The construction of the swim-ming pool and the foundation of the office building are really advancing’. The SGBC representative said after a thor-ough inspection of the construction site.

Following instructions from Chris. C YOK, Vice President and Regional Director of NickCery Group Central, west and North Africa, Andre Pitzianti, contracts and commercial development director of NickCery Group held a meeting with Apollinaire NINTCHEU of Béton Construction to evaluate the volume of work to be done and reviewed their strategies so as to meet up with the deadline for the completion of the project without any drop in the quality of the final product. During the meeting, both parties resolved to re – enforced coordination of the different activities leading up to the construction of the gigantic industrial safety training Centre in Cameroun.

N.N: Nous souhaitons savoir si les travailleurs que Nick-Cery Group a mis à votre disposition sont dévoués à leurs taches ?

Alain Denax: Nous travaillons en équipe. La main-d'œuvre mis à notre disposition par NickCery Group nous apporte un grand soutien ces collaborateurs sont des professionnels. Nous travaillons avec eux en confiance et on s’oriente vers l’avenir. En plus Ils se sont très vite intégrés dans nos systèmes. Ceux qui travaillent au magasin connaissent bien leur travail. Nous étions surpris de leur esprit d’apprentissage.

N.N: Quels aspects doivent ils s’améliorer ?

Alain Denax: Parlant d’amélioration, j’ai constaté qu’il n’ya presque rien à redire, car si tel était le cas on aurait signalé et obtenu le remplacement du travailleur incom-pétent, mais jusqu’aujourd’hui, tous les employés que NickCery Group nous a confiés sont à la hauteur de nos attentes.

N.N: Parlez nous de ceux qui vous ont beaucoup plus marqué.

Alain Denax: Tout le monde, chacun fait bien son travail. Pas seulement ceux qui travaillent dans nos locaux, mais aussi ceux qui travaillent dans les bureaux de NickCery Group. Tout le monde veut nous aider. Lisette qui fait l’assistance à l’aéroport, les chauffeurs, les magasiniers et en plus, Il ne faut pas oublier André PITZIANTI avec qui on a une très bonne relation, il est à notre écoute 24/24.

Alain DENAX est l’Operations Manager de Baker Hughes DF, avec plusieurs années d’expérience dans le métier, il a travaillé dans plusieurs pays dans le secteur pétrolier. Etant au Cameroun il travaille avec les employés mis à sa disposi-tion par NickCery Group International Services Plc. Après avoir travaillé avec ces employés pendant six mois, Il conclue que ces derniers sont à la hauteur des taches qui leur sont confiées. Voici ses propos recueille par NickCery News.

Four employees of NickCery Group working on-board Pride Cabinda have been awarded certifi-cates for their participation in the stop programme put in place by Pride International. Crane Opera-tor EDIMO ALBERT, rig welder Tebude fon Val-entine, Ignatius OTIA NGALLA and Nguve Eko both roustabout were winners of the best partici-pation on the stop program for the first quarter of 2011. During the awards ceremony Pride International, appreciated the NickCery Group Workers for their performance in the stop program. The workers have been thanked for promoting safety at work principles onboard Pride Cabinda drilling for Per-enco. They have been encouraged to teach others working onboard Pride Cabinda to effectively par-ticipate in the stop program. Nathalie Ngobo, Human Resources and Crewing Manager for NickCery Group International Ser-vices Plc attended the award ceremony.

Andre PITZIANTI, contracts and Commercial development director for NickCery Group International Services received the award from the hands of Rachel Senkon, rep-resenting the governor of the litto-ral region. Chris .C Yok, Vice President and Regional Director for NickCery Group Central, West and North Africa, said the award only confirm the leadership posi-tion that the company occupies in the fields of Industrial Safety train-ings in Central, West and North Africa. The award is fourth in the series of awards in safety trainings that the company has won since 2007. The company won three awards in industrial safety between 2007 and 2009.

NickCery Group International Services has won the best industrial safety train-

ing company award for the 2010 la-bour year. The award was handed

to the company by the regional office of labour for the littoral on

the 18th of April 2010 during a gala night to mark the 2011

international Labour Day in Cameroon.

The award is an out-come of the remark-able performance in

safety trainings that NickCery Group recorded

throughout 2010. The company trained over eight million people all over the African continent and won the loy-alty of many telecommunication, for-estry and offshore companies operating around central, west and north Africa.
