24 teams to play off in a round robin over two days. 4 pools, 6 in each. All teams guaranteed minimum of 5 matches. Winner of each pool to play off in the semi final, winners to play off for $6,000 cash! Runner up $3,000 cash Each match will be played over 1/2 hr and consists of 5 over's each team. Teams of 8 with 5 bowlers, one over each, the other 3 players must bat before any of the bowlers. All matches will be umpired and have scorers. Every six caught by a spectator will receive $20 cash. Gove FM will pump out music and provide commentary during each game. Ex-Australian Cricket Coach Tim Nielsen is attending this event for the weekend. On Sunday night 4 August a sportsman’s night will be held, this will include the presentation of all prizes for the winners & runners up. $50 entry, includes entertainment an a traditional Maori Hangi for dinner. Saturday night 3 August enjoy a BBQ by the sea at the Gove Peninsular Surf Lifesaving Club. Entry fee for the tournament is $560 per team. Only 24 teams can be accommodated!! Fill out the attached entry form, and return to the PO Box below with cheque payment ASAP or pay by Direct Debit to avoid disappointment!! Only the first 24 paid teams will be accepted. Accommodation is limited to camping in the lush grounds of the Walkabout Hotel right on the town beach. Early birds will secure motel accommodation at the Walkabout Hotel or the Peninsular Motel but will need to book this now to avoid disappointment. (see attached information for enquiries) This tournament is supported by NT Cricket to assist the Nhulunbuy Community establish an annual junior cricket competition.
