    FOODIESFEEDBACK

Highway Patrol: My guests for theevening were Amit Rana, Shyamal Mehta

and Mayank Kinger. Amit and Shyamalare the founders of Techjini, and are fromUP and Gujarat respectively. Mayank is

from Rajasthan and works at Cognizant.

Road Show: From the tiny waiting areaoutside to the entire decor inside, a good

attempt has been made to do justice tothe geographical theme of the restaurant. The seating is of two kinds low floor and

regular, and the cushions are bright andcomfortable. The staff also follow thetheme with their colourful pagdis. The fin-

ishing touch is in the form of the hand-wash, which moves away from the regularfingerbowl to a person pouring the waterfor you to wash your hands.

Route Map: The welcoming Padharo Sasection with Chaanch and Jaljeera is fol-

lowed by the savouries (Farsaan) thatincluded the dhokla, Batata vada andMasala Bati among others. The maincourse consists of gravies dal, gatta,

kadi and to go with it naan, roti and rice.

Theres also a Moong Dal Khichdi and avariety of chutneys. The road ends with

desserts in the form of burfi and Lapsi.

Roadworthy: We started with the Pa-

neer Kalimirch Tikka, and the HaryaaliAloo, both of which turned out to be ex-cellent. The Batata Vada was also ap-preciated. The Dal-Bati was mildly spicy

and good enough for multiple helpings. The Gujarati Kadi was sour, sweet andspicy and was much in demand. But

clearly, the winner was the Jaipuri Gattawith its rich, thick and spicy gravy.Among the desserts, the Coconut Burfiwas the pick of the lot.

Roadhogs: The Khaman Dhokla wasspongy enough but very dry. The Gobi

Masala turned out to be too spicy andlacking any other flavour. The MarwarKadi was also too bland, and lacked th

sour, tangy flavours associated with iThe Aloo Tamatar Rasawaala didntleave any good impressions either.Among the desserts, the Marwadi Lap

made of broken wheat, was quite a disappointment.

Service: The high speed delivery mechnism of one dish after another couldoverwhelm you, but if you let that pass

the service would rate as one of the beyoud have encountered. With smilingfaces, they insist on serving you moreand when youre finished, pleasantly a

if everything was to your satisfaction.

Verdict: If you happen to be a vegetar

an, this place is obviously worth a visEven if youre not, drop in for a uniqueexperience delivered in a most hos-pitable manner. The way to a mans

heart is a highway, and thats not theghee talking.

ESEARCH has indicated that calci-pplements increase the risk of heart

s, in older women. The findings sug-at their use in managing osteoporo-uld be re-assessed. Calcium sup-

nts are often prescribed to olderenopausal) women to maintainealth. Sometimes they are com-

with vitamin D, but its still unclear

er taking calcium supplements, without vitamin D, can affect the heart.

eam of researchers, led by Profes-

Reid at the University of Auckland, ysed the results of the initial study

d out by Womens Health Initiative,

ide the best current estimate of the of calcium supplements. Theyed data from 16,718 women whoot taking calcium supplements at

the start of the trial and found that thoseallocated to combined calcium and vita-

min D supplements were at an increasedrisk of cardiovascular events, especiallyheart attack. By contrast, in women who

were taking calcium supplements at thestart of the trial, combined calcium and vi-tamin D supplements did not alter theircardiovascular risk. ANI

CIUM SUPPLEMENTS UP HEART ATTACK RISK IN WOMENA STUDY HAS found that men whosering fingers are longer than their in-

dex fingers are seen as better betsby women. In contrast those seen asthe wimpier sorts have longer index

fingers. It is thought that exposureto high levels of testosterone in thewomb has a long-lasting effect onfinger-length and on looks. The

study is the latest in a long line tolink the shape of a man's hands withhis path in life, reports the Daily

Mail. British, French and Swiss re-searchers photographed 49 youngmen and measured the length of

their ring and index fingers. Theyalso recorded their voices and tookswabs to capture general odour.

They then showed a group of

women the photos and asked themto rate the men's looks. Those

whose ring fingers were longer thantheir index fingers were more likelyto win the women's approval. They

were seen as good prospects forboth a fling and a long-term relation-ship. For instance, scientists believethe longer a man's ring finger is,

compared to his index finger, thericher he is likely to be. They claimhe is also likely to be a promiscuous,

extroverted go-getter with strongmuscles and has a greater likeli-hood of playing a musical instru-ment. Unfortunately, such men also

have a higher chance of endingup in prison, being murdered orgoing mad. ANI
