NFTE Business Plan CompetitionMiddle School Curriculum

The program took place October 2010 -
May 2011, with a total of seven 6th
graders.
Students worked together in teams and
created businesses. There was a total of three (3) businessesStar Pillowz, Crazy
Chocolate Creations & Chris & Joes Sweets to
Go.
Concepts Covered:
•Career Clusters•Opportunity Recognition
•Types of Business• Business, Personal &
Educational Goals•Marketing
Each team presented their business ideas to a panel of
judges.
Question & Answer Session
Students were encouraged to incorporate
different promotional tactics in their
presentation. One team raffled a sample of
their product & used a mascot.
Students were awarded using the following
categories:•Best Marketing
•Best Business Pitch •Most Innovative Idea
One of the judges won a star pillow!
