The U.S. Bishops have designated the above dates to celebrate 2013 Natural Family Planning Awareness Week. The dates of Natural Family Planning Awareness Week highlight the anniversary of the papal encyclical Humane Vitae (July 25) which articulates Catholic beliefs about human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible parenthood. Make it a priority in your parish during this week and continue to promote NFP throughout the year. We have added links and attachments that will assist you in planning for this important week. A section dedicated to Natural Family Planning Awareness Week is published on the USCCB web site, presenting posters, articles, prayers and liturgies, couples’ stories, and relevant church teaching. This year’s NFP Awareness Week poster bears the motto "Pro-woman, Pro-man, Pro-child." In addition to this email, you will be receiving the USCCB NFP Awareness Week poster through the diocesan Wednesday mail. To assist in your efforts, the NFP Center, Office of Marriage and Family Life, has provided an NFP Week Parish Planning E-Packet. In the Diocese of Palm Beach, we will be celebrating Natural Family Planning Awareness Week
July 21 – July 27, 2013.

Modern methods of Natural
Family Planning (NFP) have
proven to be 99% effective in
postponing pregnancy. NFP is
also used with considerable
success by couples trying to
conceive – even when they’ve

Natural Family Planning is
based on an awareness of a
woman’s fertility. You’ll learn
how to interpret certain signs of
a woman’s body that indicate
her fertile and infertile times.

The Sympto-Thermal and Billings Ovulation Method classes are taught throughout the diocese. They are safe, healthy, effective and very low-cost ways of planning a family. They are 99% effective in avoiding pregnancy and can help low-fertility couples achieve pregnancy. They are not the same as calendar rhythm.
