BREAD MAKING
As part of our theme, ‘Scrumptious’, the children in Nursery and Reception have experienced making bread. This was linked to our instruction writing topic in English. The children loved this practical activity and enjoyed handling the ingredients and equipment and following the instructions to each make their own bread roll. Due to the nature of this hands-on experience, the children could easily distinguish between the different items used to weigh and mix the ingredients together and were also able to identify what ingredients go into making bread. We hope the children all enjoyed eating their bread rolls at home, the teachers most certainly enjoyed theirs!

COOKING THE BOOK/Coginio y Llyfr ...
Nursery and Reception children had a very special visitor into
class this week. Our school cook came in to share a small welsh story ‘Y Fasged’ with the children. The cook brought a
basket of goodies into class and the children were then asked some Welsh questions about what was in the basket – Beth sy
yn y fasged?
All children were confident at asking and answering the questions and were also able to remember the names of fruit in
Welsh, with Finnley in Nursery remembering the Welsh word for
grapes – grawnwin.
Da iawn Finnley!!
“She showed us oranges, grapes, apples and bread” – Sophie
“She brought some welsh books in and she read them to the class” – Max
“She left her basket of fruit in class for us to play with it” – Reece
“She had some bara a caws in her basket” – Freya
“Kelly had lots of fruit in her basket, she had grawnwin, afal, oren, banana” – Theo and Cody
“We asked the cook some questions in welsh” – Harriett
