Mrs. O’Neal’s Outrageous News October
~ Congratulations ~ All Star Students ~ Tyler T, Cyera S, Trinton B.
You now have your own posterous page. I posted an example on your site of something you may want to post. You can post just about anything you want including writing assignments, poems, pictures of your projects or even stuff about your family. The first thing you need to post is something about yourself. This will be your page for an entire month and you can post as much or as little as you want.
These students collected and earned the most points in the following categories.
1. 100% Club ~ Math & Spelling Pre Tests2. Overall Behavior3. Computer Discussions & Online Quizzes4. Random Tickets given out for all kinds of reasons and following the
procedures.

Weekly Dates Writing Topics Work on it September 20 – 24 Robots In ClassSeptember 27 – Oct. 1 Heroes At HomeOctober 4 – 8 When, I grow up… At HomeOctober 11 – 15 Favorite Holiday At Home
3 – 5 minutes for brainstorming 5 –10 minutes for organization30 – 45 minutes to write it 20 – 30 minutes to rewrite and make adjustments
How long does the story have to be? 5 paragraphs and it should cover the entire front of regular lined paper and at LEAST half of the back.
YOU might want to read over it and check for the following things:
Is the PENMANSHOIP legible? Assignments that are not legible will not be graded. Words are spaced and letters are formed correctly! Did they stay on TOPIC?
Proper names are CAPITALIZED… that includes the letter I. Sentences end with a period or some other form of PUNCTUATION. Did they give specific DETAILS and VIVID DESCRIPTIONS? Do they have any SPELLING Mistakes? (refer to the FRY Spelling lists) Is there a BEGINNING, MIDDLE and an ENDING? Also, check their GRAMMAR (SUBJECTS & VERBS Must Agree). “He is…” “They are…” If the subject is plural so is the verb.
