This is a “YOU CAN DO IT” school
EPSOM PALM PRESS
Dear Parents,
Its great to see some sunshine outside even though
it is still cold.
A huge thank you to the Fundraising group for
their hard work with the Father’s Day Stall. The
children are very excited to be taking home a gift
for a family member. Once again this small band
of parents are supporting the school in a positive
way. Thank you. Please consider joining them in
their efforts.
The children are rehearsing well to provide anoth-
er enjoyable school concert for the school commu-
nity. As there can only be 380 people legally in the
hall we have had to restrict the number of tickets
to three per family. All attendees will need a seat.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
A reminder that the School Wellbeing and Engage-
ment Policy is on the school website (under forms)
for your perusal. Please send any feedback on this
in writing to the school office by the end of next
week. This policy will be ratified by School Coun-
cil at the next meeting.

FAMILY PAYMENTS
Thank you to those families who have been in to
make payments on their accounts. As previously
notified, all camps and swimming will need to be
paid for prior to the event. We continue to en-
courage families to make payments towards
these events from now. If you have any questions
regarding you account please speak to Deanne.
AUSSIE SPECTACULAR
WHOLE SCHOOL PRODUCTION
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH
In just over 2 weeks the Epsom PS will hold it’s an-
nual production. Due to the growth of our school,
ticket sales will be limited to a maximum of 3 per
family. This will allow for comfortable seating ar-
rangements in the auditorium. Of course some fam-
ilies will not be requiring their full quota of tickets
so in order for larger families to be able to purchase
extra tickets we would like sales to be finalised ear-
ly. Tickets are on sale NOW from the Office and
cost $5 per ticket. Tickets will NOT be for sale at
the door so please send your order along promptly
in order for any extra tickets to be made available to
families.
A DVD will be made of the Spectacular and can be
ordered after the event. The cost will be $10.

painting etc or getting sponsors and gifts. Any
new ideas and contacts are most welcome.
Many hands make light work!
BOOK WEEK—THE GREAT BOOK SWAP Thank you to everyone who helped make this Book

PE COORDINATOR
DIVISIONAL GOLF at HEATHCOTE Congratulations to Riley A. for representing the
school at the second level of the Primary School
Golf Championships.
Riley has written this article.
Today the 28th August I represented our school at the
divisional golf at Heathcote Golf Course.
Eight people from Goldfields District got to go to the
next level and I came 11th. The golf course was full of
kangaroo poo. I got a score of 54 for 9 holes. The best
score was 37.
The day was awesome and I was very happy with my
effort. There were not as many bunkers on the golf
course as Bendigo. I only got into 1, to be exact there
were only 3.
I played on holes 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 10 and 11. The
club house was awesome.

There is good news and bad news about head
lice…
Do you want the good news or the bad news?
The good news is:
Head lice are easy to kill. Hot water above 60 de-
grees will kill head lice in 10 seconds. (THIS IS
TOO HOT FOR A SHOWER OR BATH)
Concentrate on the head – there is no evidence that
you need to make a special effort to clean the
house
There are choices about treatment – not all of them
involve chemicals
There is new and accurate information available
about head lice from the office or look at
www.health.vic.gov.au/headlice
The bad news is head lice have been around for
10,000 years and cannot be eradicated. We have had
cases reported to the school and ask you to please
check your family and treat any of the family who
have head lice.
