School Photos Thank you to Kay and Cliff Dykes from Creative School Portraits for coming in on Wednesday morning and expertly taking our school photographs for us.

All students now have their ‘shoot key/access code’. Please see the attached information on how to access your photos.

Would you like to order a whole school photo? Whole School photos can be ordered through the office. Please fill in the attached order form, enclose this with $20 in an envelope and send to the office to place your order.

Enrolling now for 2021 The school is now taking enrolments for 2021. If you or someone you know is intending to enrol their child in Kindergarten in the coming year, please visit or phone the school office and we will provide you with an enrolment form. As soon as enrolments are taken, then we are able to begin the huge task of organising for a new school year.

Kindy Orientation Kindy Orientation will be held on Wednesday mornings during Term 4 on the following dates:

October November December 28th 4th 11th 18th 25th 2nd

Kindy Orientation Sessions will run from 9:30-11:30am. Students will participate in a range of fun activities such as shared reading, visual arts, sport, maths and writing. These days provide an opportunity for your child to become accustomed to the routines and activities at school and help them to feel more at home here at Holmwood when they start their school journey in the new year.

Playground Antics Students have been enjoying each other’s company and the sunshine this week while building and playing with LEGO, and our new Fairy Garden which is currently a work in progress!

Social Distancing Guidelines at School We very much appreciate your cooperation with these measures and understand that sometimes this is not an easy situation. Morning ‘Drop Off’ Please say goodbye at the gate Parents and carers are asked to ensure their child is safely inside the school gate and then going when dropping their child off in the morning. If your child is late Please visit the office briefly to sign your child in. Please follow the guidelines below for visiting the school office

Semester One Reports Due to COVID19 and the disruption to learning for students this semester, the semester one school reports will look a little different from last semester’s reports. The reports will contain these elements: • No A to E grading for subjects • Effort ratings for all subjects • Comments for English and

Mathematics • Ratings for Social Development • Ratings for Commitment to Learning • No ‘Other School Activities’ • General Comment • Days Absent

Playground Update More work has been completed on the K-2 bike track. Now only a couple of jobs remain before it is finalised. The bikes for students are being ordered this week and students will be able to enjoy the new area very soon! Work has now begun on the other bike track for larger students, up the back of our playground. There will be room for a dirt track with mounds for students to ride BMX bikes on. The school is purchasing the bikes for the bigger students very soon!

New White School Polo Shirts HPS has now stocked white school polo shirts with the school emblem embroidered on the pocket.

Sizes 6 – 16 are available from the school office. Shirts can be purchased for a cost of $20.

These new white shirts are now part of the formal school uniform and can be worn to school on any days that are not sports days.

Red Folders School reports will be sent home on Monday June 29th. Could all families please return their red School Report Folders so that their child’s report can be added and returned.

Head Lice Head lice have been detected at the school. Please check your child’s hair for evidence of lice. It is quite common for children to get a case of head lice and more common in clean hair, so if parents could be on the lookout for this it would be greatly appreciated.

School guidelines require that any student who is found to have head lice to be collect from school.
