Date: Week 5—15th May 2015 Y3 Trip to Cleethorpes Y3 really enjoyed their trip to Cleethorpes this week learning about places by the sea. They learned lots but also really enjoyed themselves visiting the beach and eating ice cream. Mrs Wellings was so impressed by their fantastic be- haviour during the trip too. Well Done Year 6 A massive well done to Year 6 who have made us all incredibly proud this week as they’ve tackled their SATs tests. I was so impressed with how well they stretched their learning muscles this week—especially perseverance and absorption muscles and they’ve kept a cheerful smile throughout! Friends of Worsbrough Common The annual general meeting for the friends of Worsbrough Common was held on Tuesday 28th April and key members were elected into the fol- lowing positions: Chair—Kirsty Blackley and Kirsty Smith Treasurer—Amy Oldham & Kim Smith Secretary—Tanya Oldham & Laura Denton We still need your help, support and ideas to raise funds and organise events in school for your children. Our next meeting will be held in school on Tuesday 2nd June at 9.15am. Please come along and join us—everyone is welcome.     Just a quick reminder about

    checking and combing

    through your childs hair on a

    regular basis (at least week-

    ly). Younger children are par-

    ticularly susceptible. Keeping

    longer hair tied up is also ad-

    visable. If you need any help

    or support please pop in to

    see us :)

    Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

    EYPP is available for 3 to 4 year olds. This Pupil Premium grant is

    provided by the Government for each eligible child and used to

    fund valuable support in schools and nurseries. To see if you qual-

    ify, you can apply on by completing a form on line at

    www.barnsley.gov.uk and search for Free School Meals application

    form. A letter with further information has been sent out.

    SMSA

    Are you enthusiastic, motivated and would like to be part of a

    team? Why not apply to become an SMSA within our school and

    be part of that team. Applications forms are available from

    School Office.

    Year 2s Special Guests!

    Year 2 enjoyed a visit from some nocturnal animals this week.

    They got to hold and handle them and find out about where

    they live and what they eat.

    for our forest school outdoor area. If you can help
