Director’s Message Just One PointThe Spirit of New Year Dr. SK MahapatraFirst of January is not just a day in the Gregorian calendar but itmeans much more. From dawn to dusk, everything feels differ-ent on the first of January. The day would be reckoned as thehappiest day in the World if the feelings of happiness were tobe computed and aggregated as an index for all seven billionpeople on earth. The people are generally happier in a new yearwithout any apparent personal objective to justify their happi-ness. This is one day, when people get to smile more, becomemore generous and more forgiving. People exchange greetingsand good wishes throughout the day, and this gesture sponta-neously extend to strangers who come face to face especially inthe morning hours. The world sees more parties, picnics andcelebrations in the first day of the year. The first day of the yearfeels warmer than the day before or day after due to the spon-taneous exchange and flow of genuine love, affection andgoodwill around the world touching all of mankind.January first is the only festival that can take the status of theonly truly global festival, cutting across geographies, communi-ties, color and creed. Just One Point (Contd from Page 1)The students of Jaipuria School of Business, who will be com-pleting their management education and commencing theircorporate career in 2019, deserve all our good wishes forachieving success in their final examinations and professionalcareer. It is a matter of great satisfaction for our Institute thatall the bonafide students have already received one or morejob offers while they are still in campus and some have evenstarted apprenticing with their benefactors. We wish all ofthem good luck and god speed in their career. I will like toreiterate once again at this point two important thoughtsthey must carry with them into their future. First, rememberto stay grateful to your parents, teachers and friends, and allthose faces and hands, seen and unseen, who have helpedyou to grow in life unto this stage. Secondly, remember thatwhere you start your career is not as important as where youwould finish your career. Many climbers set off from the basecamp with months of preparation and hard-work, but the fewwho get to reach the top of the Mount Everest, are the oneswho don’t get carried away with early success or disheart-ened with their slow progress in the early stages. The onewho eventually gets to the top, has the right attitude of te-nacity, and valour without pride. The winner keeps trying andpushing ahead despite the early setbacks and rough weatherthat come along the way.Wishing all readers, a happy new year 2019. May your wishesbe granted by the Almighty.
