PRESIDENTS REPORT – Carrie Irwin Brown

This year is an extremely busy one with our Board working in

alignment to restructure and position our corporation for a

successful future. Outgoing CEO Bart Garber’s contract expired

in December. We wish him well in his future endeavors. The

Board has appointed Ray Atwood to serve as Interim CEO, and

Kelly Burk as Chief Administrative Officer. We are very

fortunate to have two extremely qualified leaders willing and able

to step in as we seek a permanent CEO. Mr. Atwood holds a

Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and has worked in

management positions for start-up and turn around operations as well as at large ANC’s. Ms.

Burk brings considerable field expertise and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford

University. We are very excited about the opportunities our new team has brought to the table

thus far and pleased with the administrative and procedural improvements that have been made

in a very short amount of time.

CEO CORNER – Raymond Atwood

I would like to start by saying that it is an honor to serve as your CEO. We are working

furiously to successfully restructure and reorganize the corporation. By doing so we will insure

that we have the right people, equipment and processes in place to handle

the upcoming projects and hit our aggressive growth projections for the

next several years.

As a result of a teaming relationship

we are now a minority partner in

several new Federal Government

contracts. Also, springing from this

partnership is our new

Manufacturing capability for steel framing and trusses to

be accompanied by a highly energy efficient and cost

competitive paneling system. The goal here being

permanent fulltime year round jobs for shareholders in the

Nenana area. 40,000 Square Foot Facility Built with Manufacturing Equipment

Two of the federal contracts are with the FAA and DEA and are nationwide. The other is a

Navy, Multiple Award Task Order Construction Contract (MATOC) with a Pacific Region

focus. For our new manufacturing plant we are also in

negotiations for several direct award and residential contracts

within Alaska. The future has never been brighter for

Toghotthele and we encourage all shareholders to submit their

resumes and qualifications to

[email protected].

ADMINISTRATION – Kelly Ann Burk

Although I have been involved with Toghotthele for many years as a Board

Member, In January I was pleased to become the Chief Administrative

Officer of our Corporation. Within this new role, one of my responsibilities

is to supervise our local (Nenana) employees and to ensure that HR and

personnel issues are effectively addressed. I am also responsible for hiring

new employees and ensuring that we make every effort to put qualified

shareholders to work. Toward this endeavor, we have scheduled a resume

writing class at the local Nenana Library on Friday, March 7th from 10:00am-4:00pm. We

will be there to help shareholders create a resume and complete the Toghotthele new hire

paperwork. Information obtained in this class will be put into a newly created Toghotthele

employee database which we can easily refer to as new positions open up. Doyon will also

have representatives at the class to assist participants in completing the required Doyon

hiring paperwork, in hopes of employing some of our local workers on the seismic project

that is going on in the Nenana Basin this spring. Please contact our corporate office in

Nenana at (907) 832-5832 to get more information.

We have also been working hard to improve and implement many new policies and systems, and

to update/create new forms and procedures to help business run more effectively and efficiently.

These include: personnel and HR forms and procedures; board policies and procedures; financial

reporting and record-keeping; safety and quality control manuals and practices; an estimating

manual to assist in bidding projects; equipment inventory and maintenance tracking; an

employee database to make hiring more efficient; shareholder services and record-keeping;

permit renewal and management; and land records and management procedures.

As our CEO reported, we have recently partnered on several government contracts. These

contracts are likely to increase as we have submitted our HUBZone application and are now

providing final documentation to the government to be accepted into the program. The program

gives us an advantage in winning federal contracts as it is a special set-aside category aimed at

building up economies in economically disadvantaged areas. We will also submit our 8(a)

application by the end of March which will give us an additional federal government contracting

set-aside preference. I would like to encourage all shareholders who are seeking employment to

update their information with Toghotthele by calling the Nenana office at (907) 832-5832 to

ensure you are considered for our upcoming projects both within and outside of Alaska.

I am excited to be working at Toghotthele and to be a part of increasing opportunities and growth

for our corporation and shareholders.

NENANA GRAVEL, LLC

Leonard Jensen is the General Manager of Nenana Gravel LLC. With all the recent snowfall,

Nenana Gravel has been doing a lot of snow removal. Leonard is also working to keep our

equipment maintained and rental-ready as the summer work season draws near. We are also

working on creating an electronic inventory of all our equipment to ensure proper tracking and

maintenance. In addition, we are putting safety policies in place and working with a

professional health & safety specialist to improve our safety practices.

TOG TIMBERS, LLC

Robert Demientieff is the General Manager of

Tog Timbers, LLC. Robert and his crew have

recently been working on a housing project for

the Nenana Native Council. Tog Timbers was

hired to build a 38ft x 26ft cabin on Fourth

Street in Nenana. Not only was the cabin built

with Toghotthele logs, but our crew completed

everything on the cabin from the foundation, to

plumbing and finish work. The cabin will be

completed in mid-March, and we will be partnering with the Nenana Native Council on a second

local housing project this summer. Work on the 40ft x 30ft duplex will start as soon as the

ground thaws this spring. In addition to these building projects, Tog Timbers had a record year

for firewood sales, selling over 100 cords of firewood.
