I am looking forward to seeing you all at the now famous Easter Hat Parade during the last week of school. Please don’t confuse this with Book Week celebrations; the students do not need a costume just a fun Easter Hat. I believe those that the children have made themselves are extra special and leave those lasting memories that bring a smile to our faces in years to come. So please encourage your child to be creative and make their own hat. The book fair will be taking place in the library. It’s a great opportunity to purchase some quality books to read over the Easter break. Parent/teacher interviews begin next week. These are a very valuable and important time to touch base with your child’s teacher. It is an opportunity to discuss your child’s strengths, personal interests, concerns and areas for improvement. It helps support a positive school home relationship for the benefit of improving student outcomes. Please make sure you have an appointment with you child/rens teacher. The school photos are also in the last week of school could you please ensure that your child is in full school uniform? We do not want to see any coloured socks, excessive jewellery or bright hair accessories that will detract from the pride we all show at Branxton Public School. Have a wonderful Easter break and I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 26 th when the students return to school after ANZAC day. I really love to swim. On the weekend I went to my first Speedo Development Carnival at West Wallsend. I competed in as many events as possible for my age group. I tried my best and won a bronze medal in butterfly and swam a personal best time in freestyle, which won me my first gold medal. I can’t wait for the next carnival. Harrison Cr

Global Warming Writing

Oh no, the gases from cars, trucks and factories are making polar bears threatened! We need to help them by having solar cars and trucks and by digging less coal. We should have wind and sun to make electricity. Polar bears need more ice to hunt! Buddy 1/2FP Global warming is when the world heats up. This is how it heats up. Gases come up from cars and factories and instead of going out into space, it gets caught around the earth. That’s how the earth is getting hotter. In the Arctic, polar bears need thick pieces of ice to catch their breakfast, dinner and lunch. The earth is getting hotter, the ice is melting so the polar bears go out to sea and swim and swim to find ice. Their legs get tired and they can drown. That would be very sad if it was a mother. So, we have to stop making cars and factories and walk instead of drive and make things by hand instead of in factories. That’s all the things I learnt today. Ayvah 1/2FP
