“Ladies and Gentle-
men, Saudi Aramco
is on the move, and
so is Saudi Arabia.
The key to our long-term stability
will be our economic strength. But
for too long, local content has not
been a formal requirement of
doing business with Saudi Aramco.
And current local content levels
are simply unsustainable for our
country, society, and our citizens.”

My first year in NITI was full of excitement! I came to study new
subjects like English, Math and Computer skills. My first days
were hard because I did not know much English and could not
understand because all Teachers speak English. After few days
with the help of the Teachers and friends, I improved and came
out of bad feelings. I met new people who were very helpful like
teachers and advisors. Having such teachers is the biggest bene-
fit I have taken from NITI . — Qassim F. Albaiji #1483, SADARA, Class F07
I am Mohammed Essa and I study at NITI. NITI is training us
to be smart and to be good examples for the future. NITI is a
nice place to study and helps us to be professional. NITI has
many positive things and one of them is the teachers. They
are very kind and they teach us very well. They teach us how
to always to be safe. The facilities seem to be very good and
very clean. We have a laundry on each floor. Of course there
is a gym because NITI is for healthy people. I love to exercise and play sports.

A place for everything - Ibrahim Al Saad #1099, Saudi Aramco, Class E3
Have you ever spent 20 minutes searching for a missing screwdriver that you’re sure you left “right there?”. It
could be the file of a major project, or your car keys... whether at home or work, organizing things and putting
them back after use not only saves time and effort, to find them again, but also a way to stay safe from injury.
If you are one of those people who look at a mess and say, “I know where everything is,” you
may soon become part of a national statistic. Let’s look at some of the statistics:
• Disabling injuries at home and work combined reach over 6 million a year
• 1000’s are killed in home accidents annually
• 14,000 are killed on the job annually (3,000 of these deaths are caused by falls)
Falls often result from tripping over equipment or tools left in aisles or work areas, wet spots
on the floor, or trash and other articles left on stairs. Everyone should help keep the work area clean and
free of clutter. If you throw a waste of paper at the trash can and miss: walk over, bend down and pick it up!
REMEMBER…a place for everything and everything in its place.

Teachers are the role models, the inspiring minds, the ones who build people for the
future. They deserve honor for their positive influence on the development, learning and
behavior of our young generation. Teachers makes a difference, for they are the ones who
inspire learners to continue their quest to pursue excellence in all walks of life. Around
16 Teachers were recognized for their great achievements by Kaplan.
The employees are the most important assets of an organization. The success or failure
of an institute largely dependent on the caliber of the employees. Without positive and
creative contributions from people, organizations cannot progress and prosper. Two
outstanding employees were recognized for their valuable contributions and services that
enabled the institute to achieve greater heights.
Recognizing Trainees, Teachers & Staff for their Efforts
“ Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.”
- Japanese Proverb
Recognition of achievements, minor and major, is a vital part of motivation. People continue to perform better
when they are highly motivated. Consequently, organizations think of meaningful ways to reward high
performers. For example, a certificate of appreciation or a plaque may last forever, whereas gift or money, once
given, is soon spent and forgotten. The value of a reward need not be great. It can take the form of a simple
verbal “Thank you,” or even a pat on the shoulder. These cost little or nothing, yet they count because they
symbolize appreciation.
Low performance must not be treated the same as outstanding performance. Again
recognition has to be timely. As said, “Justice delayed is justice denied,”, untimely
recognition can become a source of frustration which may turn into a performance
problem.
As part of its Recognition Program, NITI awarded trainees, instructors and staff members
as depicted in the photos below for their outstanding performance.
NITI management set a day, November 28, 2016 for recognizing high achievers from the
trainee population. These are the trainees who met set criteria to perform the best, behave
the best, have a perfect attendance and observe safety rules at all times. NITI recognized
(42) trainees for their hard work and outstanding performance.
Seven Trainees were awarded for their contribution to Safety.

NITI Staff: To begin with, the new NITI managed to have some of its critical vacant positions filled
with some qualified, experienced and dedicated individuals, including three department heads.
Furthermore, NITI got new Principals for both Academic and Job Skills who took bold steps for major
improvements in quality and mode of teaching.
NITI Visitor: What about changes other than Manpower?
NITI Staff: I am getting to that. The significant change is that, as recommended by Saudi Aramco,
NITI has shifted to Saudi Aramco’s Performance based English Curriculum (PEC). Additionally some
low performing instructional staff were replaced; trainee punctuality, attendance rate, and behavior
have been reinforced and improved. On the other hand, NITI Management invited a Quality
Assurance third party that checked almost every aspect of NITI operation and recorded (82) findings
out of which 98% have been fixed.

SAFETY CORNER - Speed Thrills but Kills!!!
“ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who
prepare for it today.” - Malcolm X
Saudi Arabia ranks 2nd among Arab countries and 23rd globally in
terms of deaths due to road accidents, according to a World Health
Organization (WHO) report, a car accident occurs every second
while 17 people are killed in crashes every day on an average in
the Kingdom as of October 29, 2015.
"The driving problems are with young people," . "There is also not
such great education in schools about driving and respecting the
road," "Drug use is also a contributing factor. These are the central
problems."
The report found that almost a third of traffic accidents in Saudi were
due to drivers jumping red lights, followed by 18% caused by illegal
U-turns. The most common dangerous driving activities were
speeding, sudden stops and using mobile while driving.
Over the past two decades Saudi Arabia had recorded 4 million traffic
accidents, that led to 86,000 deaths and 611,000 injuries, 7% of which
resulted in permanent disabilities.
A recent study at KACST, warned that if the current rise in road
accident rates is not curbed, Saudi Arabia will have over 4 million
traffic accidents a year by 2030. S. Saadi, a Jeddah-based businessman
and film producer, argued that both the government and an out-of-
control youth culture were to blame.
Deep Regret!!!
NITI lost 2 valuable Trainees during the quarter due to
over-speeding & drowsiness all after class-hours & all dying on the spot and even
Injuring & disabling others.
