Congratulations to all Beck Girls on another wonderful term! What a

great job everyone is doingwalking proudly as Lourdanians with a

vision and goals.

We had a very busy term but we managed to have a lot of fun and you

have done a lot of hard work. Only 8 weeks to go in Term 4! Keep up

this pace of learning and participating and you will be unstoppable

and invincible, girls.

Just a short message:

In-house tutorials, individual or in a small group, will be available in

Term 4 for all students who wish to improve in any subject. We have

a dedicated and enthusiastic group of Year 11s who will give up theirlunchtimes to help once, twice or as many times as you might need

On Friday the 27 of August, both Amy and I ven-

tured around 2 hours away to Edmund park, an iso-

lated camp site where the RYPEN leadership camp

would be held for the following weekend. We

started our Friday afternoon activities with some

fun, playing introduction games including arm tan-

gles, name remembering challenges and a quest to

find Harry Potter. We were then introduced to our

camp theme song, Dynamite by Taio Cruz, which

would require us to run to wherever it was playing,

whenever it was playing. Little did we know the

popular song would later be replayed over 50

times. The following day commenced with a sur-prise 6am wake up, despite being told breakfast

didnt start until 7. We then began with more team

building activities, including many blind folded,

trust games and brain puzzles.

As the day continued more physical and confront-

ing challenges were attempted by the four teams; red, yellow, blueandgreen(our team).

With excellent teamwork and communication skills we developed and enhanced on our

RYPEN experience, the teams were able to work together to conquer these challenges. Al-though, the party didnt start until 8:30 Saturday Night when Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin

Bieber and more showed up at the RYPEN showcase, where many participants performed

magic, dance and sang their hearts out. There was another

6 oclock start in the morning to take revenge on the lead-

ers. As the day progressed the most challenging test was to

come and together as a group there was a positive outcome

for everyone. However the thing that was definitely most

challenging for everyone was saying goodbye to our new

friends. We may have spent most of the weekend blind-

folded, but the RYPEN experience is something we will

never forget, and we are all eternally grateful for.
