Access to social media sites such as Facebook are restricted through the Department’s server. Having spent many hours working through these issues I have to say I am extremely shocked by the content and level of discussions students are having with each other. Excessive swearing, threats, harassment, inappropriate comments and impersonating others just to name a few of the issues. These occurrences are happening out of school hours yet the fall out is being brought to school for teachers to deal with. The terms and conditions of these sites state that you must be 13 or over to have an account. It would be much appreciated if parents could follow this up with their children as soon as possible. Attached to this week’s newsletter is a flier advertising a workshop for parents called “growing up online” presented by the highly regarded Susan McLean. The presentation is free and worthwhile attending. It has also been brought to my attention that some students are bringing and using mobile phones during school hours. The school policy states that all phones must be brought to the office in the morning and collected at the end of the day. DREAM MAGIC There is a real buzz around the school in preparing for our school concert. Not even a nasty flu can keep Mr Frederick down. The students have been practising hard and I am sure we will all be proud of them as Our School Values We shine when we are: Learning, Respectful, Safe accomplished performers. I would like to acknowledge the amazing work of our fabulous parent team (Carmen Borg, Rebecca Pattinson, Sonia Fellowes, Karlee Griffiths, Heidi Holley and Rebecca Webb) who have coordinated all props and staging accessories. Without your tireless efforts we wouldn’t have the production we have. The matinee performance will promptly begin at 1:30pm (doors will open at 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start) and should finish by 3:30pm. Students will return to school after the matinee and will be dismissed from their class. ALL STUDENTS need to be dropped off at the Secondary College Hall by 6:20pm in costume. Doors will open at 6:30 for ticket holders. Haven’t purchased a ticket don’t panic they will be available at the door to purchase. Please understand there might be a delay. On stage performance will commence at 7:00pm and will finish by 8:45. Payments A reminder if you wish to pay for your child’s/ children’s incursion/excursion etc… costs, you can pay cash, cheque, and now BPay. 2015 ENROLMENTS

A friendly reminder to parents that we have

commenced our formal process of enrolment for

2015. In order for your child to participate in the

Transition Program they must be enrolled.

The program will commence on Friday 14

November for four weeks.

Students will need to turn five years of age by 30

April, 2015. Enrolment forms are available from

the office. I would also appreciate it, if parents

would let other families in the community know

that we are currently accepting enrolments for

next year. New parents to the school are

encouraged to make an appointment to see

myself for a tour of the school.
