NEWSLETTER Our School
Message From The Principal
This year’s Walk-a-thon has broken a record for fundraising efforts. We have managed to raise a total of $2,899.05. For a school of our size this is a remarkable community effort. I would like to thank every-one for getting behind this event and supporting our playground project. We will be announcing the winning class for fish and chips in the park as well as the winners of the most laps and top effort at assembly on Friday. Our School Captains and JSC are well on their way to hitting the $10,000 target. Keep an eye out for the playground plans coming soon.
This week we celebrate all things Education. Our open morning was well attended with lots of students showing off their work to their families. It was great to see our students sharing their
love of books at the Buddy Reading session on Monday. The tree planting session at Kororoit Creek yesterday went well with over 400 trees planted by our school community. Thank you to those parents who assisted. Your help is much appreciated. We hope every-one enjoyed their Subway special lunch and Deb’s fabulous Education Week treats. A reminder that School Photo day is tomorrow. Students need to be in full school uniform. Unfortunately the photographer is working to a tight schedule and is unable to retake groups photos if your child arrives late.
Thank you to all the students in Years 3 to 6 who applied for Principal for a day. I was overwhelmed with the great response I received from the students which made it a very difficult decision. After interviewing many of the applicants it is with great pleasure to announce that Principal for a Day (this Friday) is Yusuf Yerlitis in 5/6 W or (Mr Yerlitis).
Guess The Staff Favourite Movie Competition
At assembly we will be announcing the winners of the ‘Guess the staff favourite movie competition’. There are 3 x $20 Book Fair vouchers for the winners from Prep-2, 3/4 and 5/6. Pictures of the movies are displayed in the corridor along with the application form.
Farewell Ms Ervin We wish Karen Ervin and her partner Matthew all the very best for the upcoming birth of their baby and we look forward to meeting the new addition to the family.
