your mercy
Guided by St Columba,

Catherine McAuley,

ST. COLUMBA’S OSHC: A number of documents have been sent
home to those families who have put forward an expression of
interest for their child(ren) to attend the St. Columba’s OSHC. For
those of you who have not submitted an expression of interest,
attached is an application form to complete and submit. There
is a waiting list and those who submitted an expression of interest
earlier in the year will be given priority, as previously conveyed to
all community members. We are still anticipating commencing
operations on the first day back after the holidays, which is a PD
day for the staff. Any queries, please contact the school office.

Quiz Night!
Thank you everyone for your fabulous donations. We have received some
very generous donations from members of the school community & we are
very thankful for the support. Special thanks must go to Briony Partington who
is giving up a night of work, to work in our bar at the Quiz Night. Thanks also
to Piotr (Pete) Dancewicz from Absolute & Alive Photography for all of his
support in setting up the slides & media for the event. Thanks in anticipation
to our MC’s – Mark Pettit & Paul Shanahan. The Vincuillo’s have once again
been tremendously generous and Verity Donovan has helped out immensely
with selling tickets. Jo Byrne designed our impressive flyer – thanks heaps.
There are many others who have been or will be helping on the night – we
are very grateful to all.
There are still a few tables left – so if you are contemplating coming – please
contact Steph Coates on 0412 252 221.
A tip: Get there early!! The Wall of Win opens at 7pm and last time it had
sold out by 730pm. There are some brilliant prizes on the Wall – everyone is a
winner - $10 per ticket and you definitely win at least $10 worth back – most
are worth much, much more.
Don’t forget to bring your own food & glassware. The bar also opens at 7pm,
so see you there!!

This week’s School
Banking tip:
Remember that
children need to
understand where
money comes from.
When you withdraw
money from an ATM,
explain to your child
where the money is
coming from and
how you earned it.
It’s important for
children to know
there isn’t a limitless
supply!
This year St Columba’s will once again be staging our own ‘Science Talent
Search’, which will take place on Wednesday 4th September. Students from Years
One to Six are invited to work on a creative project that can be showcased on this
day. More information is available on the school’s website.

As Marcia Mackenzie will be leaving the school with her youngest child at the end
of the year, we require one or two volunteers to take on the role of School Banking
Coordinator.
The task can be shared and banking experience is NOT necessary! If you are
interested in assisting the School in this way, please contact the Office and we will
get you in touch with Marcia.
Thank you.
