FRESHERS’ PARTY - “AAGHAAZ”
(1 October 2019, Tuesday)
AAGHAAZ is one of the most awaited
events of GNIOT. It is the welcome party
given to first year students by the second
year students to mark the beginning of new
horizons and showering wishes to the new
faces. The second year students organized
“AAGHAAZ” on 1 October, 2019, to greet
the newly admitted students of Session
2019-20.
The program was started by the traditional
lamp lighting and Vandana of Goddess
Saraswati. It was followed by the blessings
of Hon’ble Chairman- Shri B.L. Gupta Ji,
Hon’ble Vice Chairman- Shri Rajesh
Gupta Ji, Hon’ble Members of
Management- Shri Bajrang Lal Gupta Ji,
Shri J. S. Rawal Ji, Shri Gaurav Gupta Ji
to all the students for their bright and
prosperous future.
The program was graced by the presence of
Hon’ble Members of the Management along

The party mood was elevated with the
dazzling dance performance by the second
year students, followed by the thrilling
dance and song performances by first year
students.
The skit performed by the first year students
based on reality show was mesmerizing and
was highly appreciated.
The main attraction of the party as always
was the selection of Mr. & Ms. Fresher of
2019, which was judged on the basis of
overall personality, talent and their intellect.
The crowd was set to fire by the colorful
ambience of the party ground with the
beautiful selfie corner made by the students
of the decoration team.
After various heart throbbing performances,
finally came the time for the announcement
of the results, Mr. Raghav from IT branch
was declared Mr. Fresher 2019 & Ms. Vidhi
Gambhir from CSE branch was declared
Miss Fresher 2019, Mr. Ashwani from CE
branch was declared Mr. Personality and
Ms.Varsha from IT branch was declared
Miss Personality, Mr. Sumit from IT branch

winners were felicitated by the dignitaries.
On behalf of the steering committee of the
event, Ms. Minakshi Awasthi proposed the
Vote of thanks to express gratitude to one
and all, for making the event successful.
Finally the party ended with the students
dancing their hearts out on the dance floor
which marked the end of the event.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO ALTTC BSNL,
GHAZIABAD
(1 October 2019, Tuesday)
Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering organized an
industrial visit to ALTTC BSNL,
Ghaziabad, for third year students to
sensitize the students towards practical
challenges of industry.
ALTTC is an apex center for exposure to
telecom domain. The visit invoked the
learning in students regarding future mobile
trends and communication technologies.
CMD, Mr. M.K. Seth, personally took an
interaction session with the students.

CELEBRATION OF GANDHI JAYANTI
(2 October 2019, Wednesday)
GNIOT, Celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by
conducting cleanliness and YOGA drive in
the campus. The faculty members and
students paid tribute to the Father of the
Nation and remembered his noble and
valuable contribution not only for the Nation
but entire mankind.
Gandhiji was a firm believer in the
principle that a healthy mind lives in a
healthy body and he also stressed on the
importance of a balanced diet and natural
care. Yoga keeps us fit and healthy. GNIOT
students also did Yoga under the guidance
of Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta. He also
enlightened the students on the importance
of “Cleanliness” and “Yoga” in life.
INTERACTION SESSION OF DIRECTOR
(GNIOT) WITH CSE DEPARTMENT
(3 October 2019, Thursday)
Director-GNIOT, Dr. Rajesh Goel, took an
inspiring and motivational interaction
session with the students and faculty
members of the Department of CSE. He told
the students that the key to success is hard
work and they should continuously
participate in every hands-on learning
opportunity to retain and boost their
knowledge along with interpersonal skills.
It was an enriching experience for the
students as well as the faculty members.
INTERACTION SESSION OF DIRECTOR
(GNIOT) WITH FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
(4 October 2019, Friday)
The Director-GNIOT, Dr Rajesh Goel, took
a session on ‘Resume writing’ for the first
year students on October 4, 2019. While
explaining the essence of writing a good
resume to the students, he emphasized that a
resume is not just about a summary of
qualification, skills and achievements, but as
to how it speaks about the personality of an
individual. He further deliberated that a
good resume is the first impression which
best showcases the accomplishments and
abilities of a person. A nice resume, he told,

is the only thing that stands between an
individual and his dream job.
The students were highly motivated and the
session turned out to be interactive and very
fruitful. The students got a clear agenda of
how to proceed ahead with a crisp, attractive
and an informative resume which shall not
only help in their career building, but also in
all their future endeavors.

The Training and Placement Cell
successfully conducted Placement Drive
with Cognizant for the students of CSE and
IT branch. Six students of GNIOT got

understanding the concepts of Civil

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO “ST
MICROELECTRONICS”, GREATER
NOIDA
(5 October 2019, Saturday)
Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering organized an
industrial visit to ST Microelectronics,
Greater Noida.
ST Microelectronics is a leading Integrated
Device Manufacturer delivering solutions
that are key to Smart Driving, Smart
Industry, Smart Home & City and Smart
Things. Students were also exposed to IOT
environment and a session was taken by Mr.
Alok Mittal, Head, System Applications and
Integration Lab.
WORKSHOP ON - “SOLAR PHOTO-
VOLTAIC SYSTEM”
(10 -11 October 2019, Thursday- Friday)
A two days workshop on Solar Photovoltaic
Systems was conducted from 10th October,
2019 to 11thOctober, 2019 for the second
year and third year students of the EE
department. A theoretical session was held
on the first day followed by a practical
session for the students on the second day.
Students found the workshop very
interactive and got a chance to practically
learn the basic operating principles and
applications of solar PV modules.

PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH SAAS LABS
(11 October 2019, Friday)
The Training and Placement Cell
successfully conducted Placement Drive
with SAAS Labs for the students of CSE
branch. SAAS Labs is a startup studio to
build, invest in or acquire disruptive
B2B/SAAS products. Their products and
investments are in the B2B space ranging
from advertising to analytics tools solving
niche problems. During the placement drive,
students got a brief idea about working
culture of start-ups in India along with their
challenges and growth opportunity.
Raghib Hassan and Mohammad Nazim of
CSE branch were selected in SAAS Labs
with the package of 4 LPA on an amazing
profile of Full Stack Developer.

INFOTECH
(12 October 2019, Saturday)
The Training and Placement Cell
successfully conducted Placement Drive
with QA InfoTech.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO “CRISHNA
INTERNATIONAL” ALIGARH
(12 October 2019, Saturday)
Industrial visit has its own importance in the
career of a student, pursuing a professional
degree. It is considered as a part of the
college curriculum and objectives of
industrial visit are to provide students an
insight regarding internal functioning of
companies. Theoretical knowledge is not
enough for making a good professional
career. With an aim to go beyond
academics, industrial visit provides students
a practical perspective on the world of work.

Following the same lines, Department of
Mechanical Engineering GNIOT, organized
a one day industrial visit to “Crishna
International” Aligarh for third year
students.
Crishna International is the pioneer industry
established in the year 1999 at Aligarh. It
fabricates roof light windows and their
components. They do their fabrication on
CRS Mild Steel and convert it into different
dimensions through the various processes
like CNC CO2 laser, CNC bending, MIG
welding, Shot blasting, Metalizing,
Conversed paint plant and Conversed
powder coating etc. Besides fabrication,
woodworking operations were also
performed with various wood working
machines. At last various components are
assembled to form a complete roof light
window and then packaging of the product
is done. All components of roof light
windows are exported to the United
Kingdom (UK). Students got the opportunity
to see all the practical operations performed
on various machines for the fabrication of
components of roof light windows. Students
observed the various operations with keen
interest and gave suggestions for improving
the productivity and waste minimization.
Mr. Praveen Sharma, MD of Crishna
International gave an insight of how a
business can be started and what are the
challenges that come across while you run
your own business. He gave a deep insight
on idea generation and shared his
experiences. This visit was organized for the
students with an objective of providing them
functional opportunity in different sectors
which also helps to combine theoretical
knowledge with industrial knowledge.
AUTO KRITI XI: “A NATIONAL
LEVEL AUTOMOBILE OVERHAUL
WORKSHOP”
(12 -14 October 2019, Saturday-Monday)
The students of third year and final year of
Department of Mechanical Engineering attended
“AUTO Kriti XI: A National Level Automobile
Overhaul Workshop” organised By SAE NIT
Kurukshetra from 12 October, 2019 to 14
October, 2019.
The main objective of this workshop was to
make students aware of the working of the
engine and its various components through
practical demonstration over various types of
engines like Audi, Mercedes.
The key objective of this practical exercise was
to make the students practically strong. This

workshop highlighted the application of various
software of Mechanical Engineering in the
industry. The future scope of electrical vehicles
and its applications was also focused on during
a special session. This type of workshop makes
a strong practical platform for students to work
in the automobile industry and the application of
various design software with keen interest.

The Training and Placement Cell
successfully conducted Placement Drive
with Franchise India for B.Tech and MBA
students.

EXPERT LECTURE ON “FUTURE

The Department of Electronics &
Communication organised an expert talk on
15 October, 2019. The objective of the
session was to bring some of the brightest
minds from industry related to cutting edge
technologies. Keeping this in view, an
expert talk session was organized by Mr.
Abhishek Gupta, Assistant Director, ALTTC
Ghaziabad.

The topic of the lecture was based upon
“Future Mobile Trends” where students
learnt about the evolution of wireless
communication and standards. He also
discussed how wireless communication
system has gone through several evolution
stages in the past few decades, after the
introduction of the first generation mobile
networks in early 1980’s. Due to huge
demand for more connections worldwide,
Mobile communication standards have
advanced rapidly to support more users.
The session was found to be very beneficial
for the students as they got the opportunity
to understand the concepts of Mobile
Communication and its future trend
technologies.

TECHNOLOGY
(16 October 2019, Wednesday)
The Training and Placement Cell
successfully conducted Placement Drive
with Successive Technology for the students
of CSE and IT branch. Successive
Technology offers a full range of IT
solutions from end-to-end development of
web, mobile, desktop and cross platform
applications to re-engineering and
enhancement of existing legacy applications.

ENERGY AUDIT BY ELECTRICAL

An energy audit was conducted by the
Department of Electrical Engineering for its
second year students. Four different groups
comprising of seven students each were
formed and assigned different locations in
the campus to carry out the audit.
Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4
were accredited to accomplish the audit of
the admission cell, placement cell, main
reception area and EE department,

EXPERT LECTURE ON - “BIOFUELS IN
INDIA OPPORTUNITIES AND
CHALLENGES”
(18 October 2019, Friday)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering,
has organized an expert talk on “Biofuels in
India-Opportunities and Challenges” for the
students of third year and final year on 18th
October, 2019
Dr. Naveen Kumar (Professor, DTU)
delivered an expert lecture focusing on bio-
fuels resources and its application in India.
He introduced all the generation of biofuels
and also highlighted the various norms of
Euro-VI and current scenario of global
warming, because of uncontrollable
pollution produced from automobile
vehicles. In his lecture Dr. Kumar also
highlighted various methods of bio-fuel
production and energy security in India and
discussed India’s biofuel policy.
The expert lecture was held at seminar hall
of GNIOT campus. About 200 students and
15 faculty members attended the expert talk.
At the end of lecture, Professor Naveen
Kumar interacted with the students to clear
their doubts related to the topic.
ROSHNI 2K19
(18 October 2019, Friday)
GNIOT celebrated Roshni- 2K19 on 18th
October 2019. The event was organized by

Social Club, GNIOT. The event started with
the lamp lighting and Vandana of Goddess
Saraswati.

addressed the gathering on this auspicious
event. He said that the actual celebration lies
in brightening the lives of the
underprivileged people with happiness. He
also appreciated the members of the Club
for organizing “Roshni”. He motivated the
students to continue these activities with
great zeal and enthusiasm in future.
On this Occasion of Roshni-2K19, Dr.
Rajesh Goel, Director (GNIOT), Dr. Savita
Mohan, Director GNIOT- MBA, Deans and
Head of various Departments along with all
the faculty members and students distributed
blankets, sweets, stationery items and other
useful things to the underprivileged children.
After the gifts distribution, all the students
and faculty members of the Social Club
decorated the GNIOT campus by rangoli,
and lighting the diyas and candles.
PLACEMENT ENHANCEMENT VISIT
TO DISHA TANTRA
(19 October 2019, Saturday)
Department of Civil Engineering organized
a placement enhancement visit for B. Tech.
third year students to Disha Tantra located at
SNVA Ventures Pvt. Ltd B-44, Sector 59,
Noida. A group of eight students along with
two faculty members visited, Disha Tantra
Noida. Students were benefited by a
remarkable speech of emeritus professors
and career guides. This visit made the
students aware of personal branding, supply
chain, operations trends, skill matrixes, job
scenarios and Industry transition from
Industry 2.0 to Industry 4.0, etc.

Noida in the year 2011. She is currently
designated as Senior Software Engineer. The
interaction was very informative.

Er. Shivam Singh completed his B. Tech in
Mechanical Engineering in the year 2017.
He got the placement in year 2017-18 in
“Jones Lang LaSalle”. Jones Lang LaSalle is
a USA based construction company having
its roots back in 1783. The said company is
involved in various construction activities,
grand scale Mechanical Electrical Plumbing
activity (MEP) etc. The service line of the
said company includes Property
Management & Facility Management, Real
Estate Development Services, Leasing,
Capital Markets and LaSalle Investment
Management.
Er. Shivam Singh has recently been awarded
with “Exceptional Client Service Delivery
Award” on the project Cello and
“Exceptional Client Service Delivery
Award” on the project BIFC. Both the
awards have been conferred upon him by
Mr. V. Harish (MD) and Mr. Ramesh Nair
(CEO), Project and Development Services at
“Jones Lang LaSalle”. He updated that he is
always available to help the current students
of GNIOT in their future endeavors.
While talking to the Director, GNIOT and
HoD ME, he enlightened that the
experiments carried out by him in the Fluid
Machinery Laboratory of GNIOT has
benefitted him a lot in his present day job
profile.

Er. Ensramul Haq Khan will now be a part
of the Application Development and
Maintenance Projects across various
business units of TCSL. While talking to the
Director-GNIOT, he enlightened that during
his studies at GNIOT he learnt the subjects
related to Data Based Management System
(DBMS) and Data Structure (DS).In depth
knowledge of, these subjects have helped
him to grab the said job and profile.

Avinash Kumar, (Alumnus, GNIOT, Greater

2019. He has been selected in Paytm and
currently working as a Software Engineer in
Paytm Headquarter, Noida, Sector- 6.

over 7 million merchants and allow
consumers to make seamless mobile
payments from Cards, Bank Accounts and
Digital Credit among others. They are one of
the leaders of QR based mobile payments in
India. Now a day, Mr. Avinash Kumar is
directly reporting to the company’s
President at HQ of Paytm. His current
Package is around 7.0 lakhs.
While talking to the Director, GNIOT, he
enlightened that during his studies at
GNIOT he learnt C, C++, SQL, Java and
Web Technologies. The knowledge of these
subjects knowledge is helping him in his
present day profile as well.

working as a Software Developer in

While talking to Dr Rajesh Goel, the
Director GNIOT, he enlightened that during
his studies at GNIOT he learnt Data
Structure and DAA. The knowledge of these
subjects has helped him to fetch the current
job. Mr. Nitish also briefed that he is soon
going to join Volkswagen as an Automation
Engineer.

of our GNIOT team, Adarsh Kumar
Yadav and Rohit Singh got selected in the
University Basketball Team.
