Introduction

Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association Inc. is proud to have been awarded the hosting of the QJC Year 2014 Under 16 State Championships and will do everything in its power to make your visit and play as memorable as is humanly possible, weather permitting. However it is you, the people and players attending, who will really make the event a rewarding and happy time and BNJCA is keen to assist you realise these objectives. 1. Competition The Championships will be contested by twelve teams: Cricket Far North North Queensland Central Queensland Mackay - Whitsunday Wide Bay Sunshine Coast BEARS Metropolitan South West Darling Downs & South West Qld South East Queensland Gold Coast Brisbane North 2. Championship Games Venues The Championships will be held at the Brisbane Grammar School Northgate Complex and entry to the ground is from Nudgee Road, Northgate. This complex contains 5 well-established quality turf wickets and outfields. All ovals are "domed", have similar ground conditions, adjoin each other and all have covers. The other venue, as there are 6 games, is at St Joseph’s Nudgee College, Sandgate Road Boondall, which also has a quality wicket and oval. Please note: As all games are to be played on Turf pitches, players must wear spikes. Games will commence at 9.30am Monday to Thursday and commence at 9.00am on Friday, the final day. All fields will have scoreboards and a table and 2 chairs which will be reserved for the scorers. There are both fixed and portable shade shelters available for teams and some spectators. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide shade shelters for all spectators at all ovals. Spectators who are used to erecting their own shelter or umbrellas should consider packing them for use during the week. 3. 18. QJC Under 16 Development Team QJC is selecting an Under 16 State Development Team from the 2014 State Championships. The selected team will play in a competition in Brisbane in April 2015 at Alan Border oval. This event is another great development opportunity for players. Team Managers are required to report any players who are unavailable for selection by lodging the completed QJC Representative Nomination availability form, to the QJC representative at the Coaches and Managers meeting on Sunday 14th December. 19. Score Book & MyCricket Each Zone is requested to provide and use a Carbon Copy Score Book. An Easyscore Scorebook is recommended for use during the Championships. Scorers are asked to ensure that the following are clearly recorded throughout the Carnival:

first and last names of batsmen and bowlers each ball faced/bowled names of catchers (indicate if they are a wicketkeeper) and those accredited with a

runout time batted (time in and time out).

As scorers’ records will be the basis of possible performance recognition, please spend a little extra time each day to ensure the clarity and accuracy of scorebook entries. The daily results must be entered into MyCricket by a team official on return to the College each evening. Whether it is done using the school computer or using your own laptop, utilizing the school’s internet access, is up to you, however zones must ensure they have someone who can enter the details into MyCricket. Please ensure you bring a Team Player List with Dates of Birth as this is required for MyCricket should there be any issue with duplicate names. The top copy of the scoresheet is required to be submitted daily to the Co-ordinator or his assistant after you have entered the results into MyCricket to enable results, statistics and point’s calculation to be verified. Electronic scoring is permitted but a hardcopy must be available for any disputes. NOTE: Don’t forget to ensure you have someone capable of entering your daily results into MyCricket. 20.
