Visit to 6KO’s Travelling Kitchen Incursion
Today I had the opportunity to be invited into Year 6KO’s Travelling Kitchen incursion. We began with Connie
explaining about the importance of hygiene and food preparation, what food ingredients we would be including in
the making of our ‘Dumplings/Gyozas’ and the essential vitamins that each food contains. All students were buzzing
at the thought of making their dumplings. Students were able to select whether to make vegetarian or pork
dumplings, I chose to assist all groups. The food looked fresh and delicious and I was impressed with the enthusiasm
of all the Year 6 students. I was fortunate enough to be able to taste test the final product. Wow! We have some
future chefs in the making. Hopefully the students can utlise their cooking skills for their families and prepare and
cook them a beautiful meal at home.

Get involved in the School Banking program School Banking is a fun, interactive and engaging way for young Australians to learn about money
and develop good savings habits. Children who deposit money into their Youthsaver account through School Banking earn Dollarmites tokens, which they can save up and redeem for exciting
rewards.
School Banking is also a great fundraiser for our school. Our school receives a Regular Savers Contribution of $5 for every 10 deposits processed per student as well as an Annual Contribution which is based on the number of students who made at least one School Banking deposit in the
prior year.
If you would like to know more about School Banking, please ask for a 2018 School Banking program information pack from the school office or visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking.
Thank you for supporting the School Banking program and remember,
School Banking day is every Monday morning.

WEEKS 1 - 3
It was great to see Mount View students participating at Division basketball on the 17th October. Our
All-star boys team were awarded a wild card entry into the competition and gave it their all throughout
their games. The boys managed to win 1 out of 5 games but never looked out of place. It is with great
pleasure to announce that our All-star girls team will be going to Region basketball as they went
undefeated throughout their competition. Job well done girls!
The Girls went onto Regional Hooptime on the 19th October. The girls were very competitive throughout
the day which awarded them with 2 wins and 2 losses. It was a huge achievement by the girls as they
were only given a two-day break after division basketball. Thank you to all of the parents who have
helped coach and support the team along their journey. Bring on the 30th October, as the girls will be
competing in the Eastern Regional Basketball Competition.
10 students went to Division volleyball on the 16th October. How did they go you might ask? They will be
going through to Regional volleyball after not dropping a set across the day. They displayed great
teamwork, great tactics and overall enjoyed their time playing together. Fantastic work girls!

On the 23rd October our Junior All-star girls’ basketball team took the court at the State Center. The
teams’ journey started with Sayuri’s game winner in the semi-finals to losing the grand final by 1 point
at district hooptime to then gain wildcard entry to regional hooptime. Now the team will be heading to
the State hooptime competition coming up on the 26th November by showing a true reflection of
teamwork and commitment to basketball. Our girls were amazing going through the regional stages
undefeated. Well done girls, everyone at MVPS is very proud of you all.
