Happy New Year Co•Op families! It's a new year, new season, and we are excited to bring to you new fun ways to stay involved in the CoOp community, hopefully making memories and traditions along the way with our little ones that will endure. Our biggest fundraising event of the year is now before us, our second annual Winter Carnival. Winterfest, like the FallFest and Tree LIghting, is a Chelmsford tradition and the Co•Op has aligned our largest annual fundraising event to be part of WinterFest. We hope to make this a tradition for our own Co•Op friends and families. This year it is on Saturday, February 3rd and our indoor Carnival will be from 11a.m. to 1p.m. in the big hall. We are one of the stops on the town activity schedule published in the news and on their website, giving us some great publicity and hopefully lots of foot traffic. We have been THRILLED with the support and donations so far from our local businesses. We are busy planning to delight our guests with fun carnival inspired games, engaging entertainment, and delicious goodies! We still need your help to make this a BIG success. Please look for the SignUp Genius and let us know where you can volunteer and be sure to come join with family and friends on February 3rd. As always if you have any questions or ideas please share them with me at: [email protected]. Thank you for your support and helping us achieve our goals for 2018!

Winter Weather School Closures

Winter Gear

Parking Lot Carpool

The Central Co•Op follows the Chelmsford Public School System for closures and delays. Therefore, if the Chelmsford Public Schools are closes, the Co•Op will also be closed. If there is a delay, the Co•Op half-day program will be closed but the full-day program will follow the delay. For example, if there is a two-hour delay, the half-day program will not take place, but the full-day students are welcome to com in for 11a.m. until the allotted pick-up time. If you will not be sending your full-day child into school that day, please let Suzanne know.

Please remember that the children will only go out if the playground is safe and it is 32 degrees and above.

Please remember to pack your child labeled snow clothes so that we can get the children outside ifthe weather permits.

Now that the winter weather is upon us, we may lose some parking spots due to snow piles, so we ask that you please keep these few tips in mind to keep everyone safe! Please avoid parking in reserved and handicapped spots. If you are using the carpool lane, please stay as close to the curb or snowbanks as possible to let other cars park. If you are in line, make sure to stay behind the silver pole on the left to allow the gate to be opened. In the event of a severe shortage of spaces, drop off and pick up times may be slightly extended to allow parking spaces to become available. To avoid injuries, please do not let your children play on snowbanks or on ice patches

Please wait in your car. Do not enter through the carpool door If you are in a hurry, carpool may not be the best option, please come into the school. Teachers may only be able to assist one child at a time especially if the driveway is slippery. Please be patient as it may take a little longer. The carpool lane is considered an active lane. Please do not park in the carpool lane or let your children play near the lane at any time!

Name Bubbles are a great way to quickly and easily label your childs belongings. The best part is, for each purchase made a percentage will come back to the Central Co•Op! Name Bubbles will help you get those missing items back. Please check them out by using the following link below: https://fundraising.namebubbles.com/f/374040

Glitter Slime is a fun project to do to pass these cold, snowy, winter days. In a bowl, mix entire contents of glitter glue with a half cup of water using a fork. In a seperate bowl, combine one cup of water and .5 tsp of borax until the borax is dissolved. Slowly combine the borax solution to the glue. Store in airtight container. What you will need: One bottle elmers glitter glueBorax Water

Rainbow Heart Suncatchers are a fun way to add some sunshine to these cold winter days as well as a fun valentines gift for family! Have your child cut small squares of tissue paper(around one inch). While they're doing that seperate the plastic sheet protector into two. Place a thick layer of mod podge over the plastic and place the cut pieces of tissue paper on top. Then take a paint brush and cover the tissue paper with another layer with mod podge. Let it dry. Once the mod podge is dry cut the plastic into the shape of a heart. Peel the plastic off and place the tissue heart on the window with some tape. *Mod Podge can be sticky so keep some wipes close by What you will need: Tissue PaperScissors Foam Paint Brush Clear Sheet Protectors Mod Podge
