Our Facebook page provides the latest updates from the Department of Education and will keep you apprised of any new changes to how we operate. Currently schools are operational. There have been many requests for work to be sent home for students whose parents have decided not to send their children to school to “keep them safe”. Work will only be sent home for students who have an underlying health concern that puts them at risk. They will need a doctor’s certificate with exclusion dates and work will be arranged for that period. Similarly students that need to self-isolate because of travel or direct contact with someone with COVID19 will be provided work. Teachers are all working on providing online solutions and work which we will send home in the event that schools are forced to close. Please be assured we are working as best we can within the departments social distancing guidelines to maintain a safe environment for your child. There is soap in all the toilets and in every classroom. Teachers are giving lessons on hygiene and handwashing and the importance of not touching at this time. The department has scheduled enhanced cleaning services for all areas of the school. We have also implemented the following changes and cancellations: - No lining up in the morning in Area B. Students are to go straight to their classroom when the bell goes - Scripture classes are cancelled until further notice - All assemblies are cancelled until further notice - All parent forums have been cancelled - The Easter Hat Parade Assembly cancelled. A new format for the Easter Hat Parade is being discussed so that children can still make and enjoy their Easter Hats in a safe way. Please encourage children to keep making their hats and we will have more information on what our new parade will look like next newsletter. - PSSA sport has been cancelled - All representative sport has been cancelled If there is a confirmed case of Coronavirus in your family please contact the school asap on 02 9604 7691 Vandelism We have had some vandalism in the school overnight. P & C Easter Raffle
Our famous Easter Raffle is coming up soon and we have plenty of fantastic prizes to be won! In order to make our raffle a success, we are asking for your support. Donations of Easter eggs, big or small are needed. Please bring in Easter eggs to the front office and let’s make this the best raffle ever!
Mother’s Day Stall
This year for Mother's Day the P & C will be selling cups and plates that your child can personalise just for you! An order form has been sent home to you today detailing the items that may be ordered. Please hand in your order form to the office by Thursday 9th April.
News from the P & C This week’s meeting was a great success. Here are some highlights…
The Easter Raffle is going well. Tickets are out now and selling fast. Don’t forget to donate your Easter eggs.
There are some exciting things planned for Mother’s Day. Our annual stall will be stocked with some fantastic items and there will also be an opportunity for the children to decorate plates and cups as gifts.
We will be running some cake stalls throughout the year – stay tuned!!
The P & C will be hosting some Creative Classes for parents this year. We hope to run some 2 hour workshops on topics such as felting, pasta making, clay etc. A great chance to try something new while getting to know other parents.
While banking may be temporarily suspended, we do encourage all parents to sign their children up to the school banking scheme.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday the 18th of May in the Community Hall. All welcome.
Mini King Parkers Playgroup To all our regular families, we would like to inform you that playgroup will be suspended until further notice. Most of you have decided to remain at home in line with the government’s social distancing recommendations and we understand the value in this.
