SECRETARY’S REPORT MINUTES OF THE POTLUCK DINNER / INDUCTION MEETING MAY 14,2016

After having some fun sailboating, sailboarding and paddle boarding on Sunset Harbor Saturday afternoon about 20 members arrived for the Pot-luck dinner, Officer Induction and the last meeting of the season. At 7:30PM Jan Cole started the drawings for the scratch off tickets and 50/50 raffle. We had many scratch-off winners including: Mark Ciraco, Lisa Edens, Art Twitchell, Sheila Renfro, Bob Cole and Ed Sims. Ed also won the 50/50 of $38.

Vice Commodore Ken Renfro, officiated the meeting, thanked Ed & Lynn for their generous sharing of their beachwith the club for the day’s events.Jan Cole gave the Treasurer’s Report which started with a balance of $2611 on April 1st and ended with a balance of $3730.92 on April 30th. Art Twitchell reported that the Minutes for April were in the Newsletter.The reports were approved. • Old Business Ed Sims' reported on the hight-lights of the Mug Race (held May 7 & 8th) 2 boats from our Club participated,both coming in 2nd in their classes: Jim Edens for the Multi-hulls and Ed Sims for the Displacement-hulls. Ed also won a trophy for being the last boat in before the cut-off time of 8:08PM for the 38 mile race. Only 38 sailboats out of 81 made it in by the cut-off time. Congratulations to Jim & Ed!! • New Business Ken led us into the awards part of the meeting. First gifts were given to the current officers for their serviceduring the past year: Commodore Herb Moore, Vice Commodore Ken Renfro, Secretary Art Twitchell, Treasurer Jan Cole, Racing Commodore Bob Cole and Webmaster Jan Schumacher. Paul Straub passed on the "Pat on the Back Award” to Art Twitchell Bob Cole passed on the "Sailor of the Year Award” to Mark and Bobbie Ciraco.Then Ken Renfro welcomed forward the newly elected officers to simultaneously take the induction oath which he officiated to: • Jan Cole -Treasurer • Art Twitchell -Secretary • Jim Edens -Vice Commodore • John Cicio - Commodore John Cicio, our new Commodore then took over the meeting asking if there was any more new business Mark Ciraco asked if anyone may have seen the dock lines to his safety boat in the confusion of the regatta wrap -up.John made an inquiry for a June Buccaneers Night location suggestion. Jan Cole offered PI on Broadway. Also a kayaking trip in June was discussed. An Evite for both would go out with details. After that the official meeting was asked to be adjourned, approved and brought to a close. OBRS Meeting • Status of the Gavel …. Ed Sims passed the cherished Gavel on to Jan & Rock Schumacher.

he won Second Place Trophy in the Multi-Hull Class.

OSC Congratulates both of you “Outstanding Long Distant Sailors” !

81 boats started from Palatka .... only 38 boats finish by deadline!

“The Glass Mug is for second place in our fleet. The Silver cup is the Corinthian trophy for being the last boat to finish. There

were 81 boats, 38 finished and 43 did not make the finish deadline. We (Point Blank) were the 38th boat across the finish line but

corrected out to 7th overall and 2nd in class”. Ed Sims
