Moccasin Joe, a comedian and magician, came to visit Bonanza School on Monday, March 14. Moccasin Joe shared a few laughs and taught some magic tricks while he talked about concerns and issues such as bul-lying, safety, internet safety, peer pressure, and strate-gies for reaching success!
Grades 5-8 enjoyed the talk and tricks of Moccasin Joe, which were sponsored by Darrell Willier, our FNMI Liai-son Worker and his program.
Several of Bonanza School’s students re-
sumed recording in Solar Peace Studios
last week, working on a promotional video
for the Bear Mountain Wind Park. Reece
Lepage, Bailey McKay, Lidea Porrill,
and Mackenzie Porrill met with recording
engineer and music composer, Bert Gou-
let, to lay down some more sound tracks
for the song “The Turning” and videotape
some footage for the upcoming music video.
Students in Bonanza Junior High have created a tribute board to the memory, loss, and challenges faced by Japan during these times of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear reactor distress. Students from grades 3-8 have been busy through the week with learning how to make the origami peace cranes as an additional wish and thought for those in distress, and these are on display in the school hallway as well.
The tally is in! Bonanza School students were able to raise
$954.43 for the MS Read-a-thon. In the three week pe-
riod, students read over 15, 226 minutes. Thank you to
those who donated to such a great cause!
