Quotes from students of the School of Disciples
‘It marked the beginning of my true walk with Jesus’
“Joining School of Disciples was the best thing that ever happened to me; my walk with God has never
been the same ever since.”
“Through the School I learnt how to speak in tongues...”
Vol. 3: Issue 1
Dear friends, Happy New Year! Welcome to the year of your rising! That is the promise of God for you, your family and His church in 2013. In the last quarter of 2012, we embarked on a journey in our weekly Community Fellowship Group meetings (CFGs). We journeyed in to the book of Isaiah, chapter 58 to learn about true fasting and about God's heart for the poor and the afflicted. As we journeyed deeper, we felt an increasingly heavy burden to do more to address the many forms of poverty we see around us. As we were rounding up the study, the Lord brought a desperate need to our attention which served as the launch pad for what is now Project 58 - our response to the heart cry of God for the needy. I encourage you, as you make resolutions this New Year, resolve it in your heart to look beyond your own needs. Isaiah 58:10 says: 'and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday;'. Matthew 6:33 also says 'But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.' 'These things' being everything that we need. As a church, we are fully resolved to seek God's Kingdom first. To 'draw out our soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul'. As we do this, we believe God for the manifestation of His promise that our light shall rise in darkness and obscurity will be a thing of the past. According to God's Word in Isaiah 60, verse 1: 'Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.' Happy New Year. Happy New You!
