Staff News Congratulations to Mrs Murray (Y3 teacher and Phase 2 Lead Teacher) who is expecting her second

child, due in October. Mrs Murray will be here until the end of this school year and will be on

maternity leave for the whole of the academic year 18/19. We will recruit a temporary teacher for

18/19 as soon as possible.

We are delighted to announce that Miss Trolley (student teacher in Y4) has been appointed as class

teacher for 18/19. We are very pleased that she will be staying with us.

Class arrangements for 18/19 will be announced in term 6.

Well done to all the star writers who were

invited to the tea party today:

Sports Update

A huge well done to the Tag Rugby team who

made it to the County Finals and finished in 9th

place in the whole of the West of England –

this is a brilliant result and we are very proud

commitment and behaviour throughout the

tournament – they are a credit to Headley

School Dinners Just a reminder about the system for booking school dinners:

School dinners must be booked online through ParentPay by 08:45 daily. They can be booked in

advance for the whole term.

If your child has not been booked in for a meal, we will ring you to bring in a packed lunch

On the rare occasions you are not able to deliver a packed lunch the only meal option we will be

able to accommodate is salad bar

You can change your meal choices through ParentPay up to 08:45 on the day but it will not be

possible for your child to change their mind by telling the teacher or school office.

We are aware that there have been some issues with portion size and quality of the meals and we

are working with Chartwells to make all required improvements. We have also set up a pupil voice

group which will give regular feedback on dinners from the children. Please continue to give us your

feedback and we will do all we can to sort out any problems.

Car Park Children should not cross through the car park on their way to and from school as it is not safe.

Please remind your children of this important safety rule. Thank you for your support.

Computer Games We are concerned that a number of children are exposed to computer games that are not certified

for use by young children. Children as young as Reception are talking about cert. 12 games and

several children through the school have mentioned cert. 15 and even cert. 18 games they say they

play with older siblings. The health and social risks of children playing unsuitable games are well-

documented. Please be vigilant and check all security settings on devices children have access to.

Dog Mess We continue to have problems with

dog mess on the pavements

surrounding the school. Mr Allsop, our

site manager, will check and clear the

areas immediately by our entrances

but can’t check the whole local area.

Please be vigilant. See this extract

from Bristol City Council’s website for

information about reporting dog
