Linden Lions was called to order by President Michael Page. Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Michael Page. Songbirds Lion Aldo Navone, Secretary Sam Fonzi, P.P. Stephan Moore, P.P. Frank Cucco and 1st VP Jeffrey Beebe led us in the singing of God Bless America. A twist tonight was Lion “Doc” Renwick choreographing the whole thing for Aldo. Invocation was given by Lion Joseph Larranaga, Jr.
DINNER: Tonight’s dinnerwas especiallydesignedforthekid’sandthekidineach of us. Spaghetti and meatballs, salad and bread. And the main course was the sundae bar - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, cherries and whip cream.And the kidsgot togofirstbefore the “BIG” kids.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: IPP Tom Orecchia announced the second reading of Officers forthe 2010-2011 year.

Still have time to get a ticket. 1st VP Jeffrey Beebe announced a Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfastto be held at the Lions Club, May 9th from 8:00AM to 12:00 noon. Adults $8.00, kids $4.00. Lion James Kietzke announced the Community Calendar is now accepting advertisements. Updates for birthdays, anniversaries and events are also being requested. Please get your info to Jim or Rachael Wallace at 887-2222 or 957-1340x200.See the advertisement. P.P. Art German announced we will be working 2 gates this year. That is TWO gates. We will need all the help we can get and guarantee you will have a fun time. Bring a sun hat and dress for warm and cool. We take tickets and stamp re-entry’s.You can work one shift, two shifts, all day OR all three days. Lunch is provided as are sodas, water and ice. Contact Art before he contacts you. Lion Ted Fidler announced that the next visitation will be to the Ripon Lions Club on 5-6-2010. Meet at the clubhouse at 5:45PM, leave at 6:00PM. The meeting is at 7:00PM. For those who wish to go direct, the meeting is held at the American Legion Hall, 206 S Stockton Ave., Ripon. See you there. If you need additional information, contact Ted Fidler. The 2010-2011 Membership Roster is under development. Sam needs any and all address, telephone changes by the end of April. Members and guests were introduced.

CLYDE HELTCELMEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP LOANS
The Linden Lions Club accepts applications for the Clyde Heltcel Memorial Scholarship Loan each year from May 1st until June 1st. The loans are interest free until one year after the student graduates provided the student’sgradesaresatisfactorywhileattendingschool.A student may apply each year while in school. Prior loans have ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on loanfundavailability,numberofapplicantsandfinancialneed. The requirements for this loan are as follows: 1. A completed application package, including financial informationandstudentrequestletter,withacurrenttranscriptofthestudent’slastyear. 2. The student must attend or be accepted for enrollment to a four-year college or university. 3. The parents or guardians of the student must livewithintheboundariesoftheLindenUnifiedSchoolDistrict or be an off-spring of a Linden Lions Club member. 4. Loan proceeds are disbursed directly to the student upon proof of enrollment. Loan application packages may be obtained from Jay Colombini, Manager of the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Linden or from the Linden High School Career Center. The application must be returned to Mr. Colombini by the JUNE 1st DEADLINE.
LINDEN LIONS COMMUNITY CALENDAR Each year the Linden Lions Club sponsors the Community Calendar project. It gives all members of the community a way to remember birthdays, anniversaries, events and special occasions in our lives and community. In addition, advertisement space is also provided for businesses. Advertisement space is now available for $65.00 and it includes one (1) calendar.
