AREA MEETING IN TOKYO 5-7th MARCH 2013

For year 2013, Tokyo was chosen as the location for the 2013 Annual Meeting of the

Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Asia and South Africa area.

The 2013 Tokyo Conference took place on Friday 5th of April and was aimed at

highlighting the excellent results the Italian Chambers of Commerce are achieving in

Asia.

These positive results are confirmed by the growth of enterprises in an attempt to meet

the growing demands of businesses in the process of expanding internationally.

During the conference, which was attended by The Secretary General Mariagrazia

Biancospino, in representation of the Italian-South African Chamber. Three new offices

were introduced: the Chambers of Vietnam (represented by President Michele

D’Ercole), South Korea (represented by Vice-President Nicolas Piccato) and the

Philippines (represented by President Alessandro Abbate and Secretary Martino Di

Nola).

The development of these office has been followed and facilitated by the support of

the offices already present in neighboring countries. Seoul was supported by the Tokyo

office, Vietnam by the Singapore office, and the Philippines by the Hong Kong office.

In this period of economic uncertainty, many companies are looking for new

opportunities and new markets in which, and from which to operate, and our

association of Chambers, represented throughout the world, is often considered a solid

support system able to collaborate effectively on different ventures.

There are plans to open more offices in

the coming months, further proof of the

growing opportunities that businesses and

entrepreneurs can find in Asian markets.

Per l’anno 2013 e’ stata scelta la città di Tokyo quale sede per l’incontro annuale delle

Camere di Commercio Italiane all’estero per l’area dell’Asia e del Sud Africa.

Venerdì 5 Aprile si è aperta a Tokyo l’area meeting con lo scopo di presentare i risultati

che le Camere di Commercio Italiane stanno raggiungendo nel continente asiatico.

I risultati positivi sono testimoniati dall'aumento del numero delle strutture e

dall'espansione delle loro attività venendo incontro alle esigenze di internalizzazione delle

imprese.

In rappresentanza della Camera di Commercio Italo-Sud Africana , la Dott. Biancospino

ha partecipato alla conferenza durante la quale sono stati presentati tre nuove Camere:

La Camera di Commercio del Vietnam (con il presidente Michele d'Ercole), Corea del

Sud (con il vicepresidente Nicolas Piccato) e Filippine (presidente Alessandro Abbate e

segretario Martino Di Nola). Lo sviluppo è stato seguito ed agevolato dal supporto delle

Camere già esistenti in paesi limitrofi (da Tokyo per Seul, da Singapore per il Vietnam e

da Hong Kong per le Filippine).

Soprattutto in questo periodo di difficoltà molte aziende cercano nuovi sbocchi e nuovi

mercati a cui affacciarsi, trovando nelle nostre organizzazioni camerali collaborazione e

utili supporti grazie alla nostra struttura presente e radicata sul territorio.

- BUSINESS BREAKFAST in Cape Town -

A Business Breakfast will take place on 9th May at the Mount Nelson Hotel,

address -76 Orange Street in Cape Town to promote and encourage business

in South Africa.

The event is important for all those looking to expand their networks and to

facilitate and support business activities.

The event is being organized in collaboration with First National Bank and will

feature high-profile guests such, as FNB Chief Economist, Mr. Sizwe Nxedlana.

All members and supporters of the Chamber are invited to attend - tables are

available at a cost of R1800 each and single seats at the cost of R200 each.

Giulio Mulas has taken over from Sergio La Verghetta as Director of ICE

Johannesburg. Mr. La Verghetta has been with the Johannesburg office

since December 2010, and is now being transferred to Buenos Aires.

Mr. Mulas became part of ICE in November 1997, and has held numerous

positions within the institution, such as Director of the Promotion of Italian

Products Office in Belgium and Luxembourg, also Director of Human

Resource Development in Rome.

ICE Johannesburg was opened in 1995 and covers not only South Africa, but

also 22 other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In recent years the Johannesburg office has hosted numerous delegations of

Italian companies, and has achieved considerable success in the promotion

of the Sistema Italia ("Italian system") in these important emerging markets.

The period 2011-2013 saw the office mandated to carry out, and in addition

to traditional assistance commitments and promotional activities aimed at a

wide range of sectors, also initiatives included in the special promotional

program for Africa, decided by the Ministry of Economic Development.

We wish to sincerely thank Mr. La Verghetta for his collaboration and to

warmly welcome Mr. Mulas and wish him many successful years with us in

South Africa.

Benvenuto al Nuovo Direttore dell’ICE Giulio Mulas

Il signor Mulas entrò a far parte dell'ICE nel

novembre del 1997, in seguito ha ricoperto

numerosi incarichi all'interno, da direttore dell'ufficio

di promozione di prodotti italiani in Belgio e

Lussemburgo dal 2007, a direttore dell'ufficio di

sviluppo risorse umane a Roma dal 2011.

L’ufficio ICE di Johannesburg opera dal 1995 ed ha

competenza, oltre che sul Sud Africa, su 22 paesi

dell‘Africa Sub Sahariana.

In anni recenti l'ufficio di Johannesburg ha ospitato

numerose delegazioni di imprese italiane e ha

realizzato notevoli iniziative promozionali a favore

della proiezione del "Sistema Italia" su questi

importanti mercati emergenti.

La Verghetta e diamo il benvenuto a Giulio Mulas ,

augurandogli ampi ed importanti successi

professionali.

Dal primo Aprile ha assunto la funzione di Direttore dell'ufficio ICE di Johannesburg

Giulio Mulas in sostituzione di Sergio La Verghetta che lascia l'incarico ricoperto dal 20

dicembre 2010.
