We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Attendance matters at All Hallows Year 7 - 95.9%

Year 8 - 96.0%

Year 9 - 92.4%

Year 10 - 92.4%

We completed last year with 94.6%. We aim for 97%. Parents are politely reminded to avoid absence unless it is absolutely necessary. Holidays will not be au-thorised from 1st September 2013 under new legislation on all English schools. Requests for holidays must still be made in writing to the appropriate Key Stage leader (Mrs Garvey KS5, Mr Blades KS4 and Mr Diamond KS3), but in the vast majority of cases they will be unauthorised.

Medical absence will continue to require medical proof and appointments should be made, where possible, outside of the College day. Please consider if a whole day of absence is absolutely necessary for medical appointments, or can part of the day be missed instead?

The link between attendance and achievement is well researched and documented and students should be aiming for an attendance rate of no less than 97% over the year. Thank you for your continued support with this importance issue.

International School Award 2013-16

All Hallows is proud to announce that we have been successful in renewing our International School status for 2013-16. This is our second award and this time the assessors said ''You have delivered a wide range of activities which cover many relevant international themes. Clearly, your international work has had a positive impact on your students and their learning. Well done on receiving your award!" Special thanks are due to Mr Diamond who has led the application, and all of the staff who have embedded the international dimension with such enthusiasm in teaching and learning.

Parents as Partners - Uniform Matters

An excellent start to the year has been made by the vast majority of students and uniform policy is being followed by all but a very few students. We have asked for parents to purchase kilts to a length BELOW the knee to allow room for growth during the year. All students should also have a jumper (grey - Y7 and 8, black Y9-11) and be wearing it from this Monday. Uniform checks will be conducted during the week and if necessary, parents contacted. Boys in Year 9 to 11 have received a free 'old school' tie, which is back by popular demand and as one boy commented to the Principal 'I like it - it feels more business like.' echoing the words of OfSTED about our culture for learning: 'Inspectors found that students had smart appearance and that the college's 'dress for success' policy was helping to maintain a business-like learning environment.' We thank our parents for your support on these matters. The uniform policy can be found under the parents section of our website.

Community Mass - Fridays - 9.00-9.45am

- All students should enter and leave via the 'bus turning circle'.

- If you are collecting your child by car, please arrange to meet them away from the College in a side street and not in
