Mr. Rajiv Verma of INDIA SOLE, Kolkata was awarded the certificate of excellence

for his outstanding growth from 1.5 ton per month to 6 tones in one and a half

years. He is fully satisfied with marketing support, material supply and equipment

maintenance.

He gives the credit to the marketing team of West Bengal . He says that it was only

From providing the technical assistance to timely supply of materials , it was the

Bharat tyres , Dehrionson is one of the larg-

est dealers of retreading material in that

zone.

Mr. Iqbal Karim is an example of how one

should go about entrepreneurship. Not only

has he been able to expand his business , but

also his rating is very high on consumer satisfaction.

He has encouraged the use of branded retreads among the retreaders and

counseled them how a branded retread can be a boon to the vehicle and

the vehicle owner.

The retread of his choice is INDAG . He says INDAG is best among com-

petitors and highest among customer demand and consumer satisfaction.

Our technical expert Mr. Rajiv Mathur warns about the consequences of mistakes in the Initial Inspection.

They are-

1) Missed or non repaired punctures may result in a lack of tread to tyre adhesion at the time of retreading.

2) Missed or Undetected cas-ing separations in the tyre at the time of retreading may result into retread failure.

Divide the tyre into sections :

Liner ( 1 & 2 )

Bead ( 3 & 4 )

Sidewall ( 5 & 6 )

Crown ( 7 )

1)Liner inspection ( 1 & 2 )

Spread the beads

Use your hands to inspect tyres to check the pinch of nail/bolts/any hard material pene-trating the liner

Make start mark on liner

Rotate tyre one full revolution and inspect visually and manually area 1 & 2

Examine liner for injuries, open splice, cuts nail holes.

Discolor of plies

Remove all nail hole patches. Remove any other patch not in good condition.

2) Bead Inspection ( 3 & 4 )

Keep beads spread

Make start mark

Rotate tyre one full revolution and inspect area 3 and then same for area 4.

Examine beads for any exposed or damaged body plies which can never be repaired.

3 )Sidewall Inspection ( 5 & 6 )

Relax the beads

Rotate the tyre one full revolution and in-spect area 5 and same for area 6.

Check for separations ,cracks, buldge ozone or weather Aggression ( < 1.5 mm deep ) or distortion.

A code marking system on the sidewall to identify the type of repair is required

.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION (PART 1)

INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS

REQUIREMENT

A well lighted spreader with full access to the Tyre.

Inspection tools : Probe ,Pliers ,knife, Hand hold, Drop light, Chalk/Yellow crayon, cleaner

Tyre must be dry and clean : Remove all dust.

Put tyre on spreader and spread beads enough to have unobstructed view of the liner.

4) Crown Inspection ( 7 )

Leave bead relaxed

Mark start mark

Slowly rotate tyre and inspect area 7.

Probe all cuts and holes to determine size

and depth,

Remove all stones, foreign material.

Job Card—For each tyre a job card is needed

with all information on it.

Rejections

Any damage on radial ply in bead area

Bead distortion

Sidewall cracking extending into plies.

Blister or humps in liner (Shoulder area)

Excessive circumferential cracking in bead or

shoulder area.
