Week 2 Term 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to 2016 and we trust that everyone managed to get a break during the school holidays. A special welcome to new

parents and families of boys and girls either starting Kindergarten this year or joining us in older grades. Our first few days back

have been very calm and settled. Ringrose Public School is a great place to be!

It is timely as we enter into our second year of the 2015-2017 School Plan that we re-emphasise our three Strategic Directions:

1. Excellence in Learning

2. Excellence in Teaching and Leading

3. Excellence in Strong Partnerships

Today we transitioned into our new 2016 classes. Inserted in this newsletter is a detailed list of staffing and classes this year.

We would like to also extend a warm Ringrose welcome to Mrs Thurley, Miss Putanac and Miss Spence who join us this year. It is

also wonderful to have Mrs O'Neill back from leave.

As is the case at this time of the year, we have a number of key events and dates coming up quickly that are listed later in the

newsletter. These include the Kindergarten Teddy Bear's Picnic, PSSA (Yrs 3-6 School Representative Sport Teams), our Swimming

Carnival, and our first Parents and Citizen's (P&C) meeting.

This year's 'Meet the Teacher' Afternoons will operate differently in response to parent feedback over the last two years.

Essentially, the details include:

K-2 on Tuesday 16 February

Yrs 3-6 on Wednesday 17 February

3:15-3:45pm in new classrooms with your child's teacher. This will include hearing about grade and stage work and

meeting the class teacher.

3:45-4:15pm Afternoon Tea in the Library where the Assistant Principals and I will be available to answer other

parent queries.

5pm Assistant Principals presenting Stage overviews as delivered in classrooms for those parents unable to make

earlier session in rooms.

We trust that families will find this change more beneficial.

School banking

School banking will recommence from Thursday 4 February and run every Thursday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am until the end of term. New students can register for School Banking by visiting the School Banking Team on Thursday mornings in the AV Room (opposite the Uniform Shop). To register, please bring in your child’s birth certificate and one form of ID for yourself (driver’s licence etc).

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop will be open every Thursday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am. Order forms can be found in the School Office or on the School Website. Order forms can be filled and returned to the School Office at any time, but will be filled on Thursday mornings only. Orders can then be collected from the School Office.

CANTEEN INFORMATION

Welcome back to term 1, I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe holiday.

Welcome to all our new students and their parents, we hope you enjoy your stay here at Ringrose Public

School.

As our school is growing and as you can see on our roster for this term we are in need of helpers. If you are

able to help out on one or more of these days whether it is until recess up until 11.10 or all day until 1.30,

please give me a call on 0411143609. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are ordering your lunch via the office our school lunch bags or on an envelope please include 10 cents

for the bag.

Kindergarten Parents Meet & Greet

To welcome our new Kindy parents, the Canteen will be hosting an afternoon tea in the Canteen Foyer, on

Wednesday 10 February, 2016. Parents are invited to join us from 2:00-2:30pm. Please see the attached

Kindergarten Enrolment 2016

Enrolment forms for next year’s Kindergarten students can be collected from

the School Office any time. Please complete the form and return it with your

child’s original birth certificate, immunisation certificate (or blue book) and

proof of address, which will be copied and returned to the parent.
