OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION OLD BOY NEWS:

My name is Daniel Girven and I’m a proud Old Boy of Liston College.

I finished in 2003 equipped with many skills, beliefs and ambi ons, ready to take on a new challenge away from the school that had given me so much. I ended up a ending Auckland University studying a Bachelor of Physical Educa on, very much influenced by the great teachers I had been lucky to have whilst at Liston.

Once I finished University it was  me to see the world, Sydney was the first stop, living there for two years. Then it was  me to travel : Brazil, Peru, Columbia and many other countries throughout South and Central America were stops along the way.

Eventually, I arrived in London where I again taught and travelled extensively throughout Europe. However, the pull from home was always strong and a er many years away living overseas and traveling I find myself back where it all started, teaching at Liston College.

Being an Old Boy and having the opportunity to teach the young men of Liston is truly rewarding. The school has changed a lot in the past ten years but one thing has remained the same, this is a fantas c boy’s school and I amongst many others am proud to call myself a Liston College Old Boy.  Daniel Girven

The Liston College 1st XI are applying to be accepted into the PREMIER A GRADE cricket in 2014.  If this goes ahead, its would be the first year in almost a decade that any Auckland Secondary school 1st XI has been promoted to the A Grade.
