‘Mā tini, mā mano ka rapa te whai’
‘Together we will succeed Students, Staff, Parents & Community’
Nga mihi, Jane Wills
Tēnā koutou katoa. Welcome back.
A great big thank-you to the fabulous parents
who stayed over at Marahau Camp. We had a
lot of rain, and were sorry to have to come
home early, but as Leone is showing us, there
was fun to be had!
Welcome to our new staff: Aysha Wheeler is our new
Te Ara Ora teacher. Aysha comes from England and has
also taught in New Zealand special schools. She has very
quickly shown us that she is
both enthusiastic and highly
capable. Welcome Aysha.
We also have two fabulous new teacher aides. Kelly Crichton
is supporting the team in Te Ara Ora and brings with her a
wealth of experience in community support work.
Elizabeth Burton has lots of
experience in school roles in
Canada, working with young
people with special needs.
Elizabeth is supporting the
team at M@HW. Nau mai,
haere mai ki a koutou!

Camp was a fantastic experience for those who could attend—very relaxed and
enjoyable. Students, parents and staff had a great first day exploring when there
was some fine weather. Huge thanks to the helpers!
Unfortunately the weather came in on the second day and precluded the rest of
the school coming to camp, but a ‘Rain Walk’ proved a bit of a novelty!!
The remaining students at school had a magical pirate day and treasure hunt,
with plenty of games and Easter eggs!! Thoroughly enjoyed by all.
