SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONSThank you to the many parents who have chatted to me over the last week in regards to being a
School Councillor at Tootgarook. Im delighted to report that we currently have
equal nominations to fill all of the current vacancies, no election process will be
required.
I will confirm the outcome of the process and/or the composition of our 2016

PARENT/TEACHER/STUDENT (PTS) CONFERENCESTo find out a little more about your child/ren s start to 2016 as well as some of
their initial learning goals for first semester, PTS Conferences have been planned
for Tuesday 23rdFebruary. These conferences will also provide a great opportunity
to forge that important partnership between students, parents & teachers which we
know is so important to optimising the learning outcomes for our students.
Conferences will be of ten minutes duration and have been scheduled between
2:30pm and 6:00pm on each of these days. All information needed for booking your
PTS conference will be available in a note going home next Monday.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURESHow disappointing it has been for schools that have recently received threatening calls which have
necessitated lockdown or evacuation procedures. In addition to the disruptions to the school day, these
situations are also very unsettling for students, staff and parents. Please be assured that this is an aspect of our
operations in which we have very strong practices in place. All of our emergency documentation has been
completely updated this year. To further boost these processes, we have a phone system
Please be assured that this is an aspect of our operations in which we have very strong practices in place. All of
our emergency documentation has been completely updated this year as a result of the six new classrooms we
now have on site. To further boost these processes, a new phone system was installed over the summer break, which now has the capability to communicate a complete lockdown in every classroom with the press of a
button.
All staff members, new and existing, have been thoroughly briefed on the updated procedures and we will
judiciously rehearse these over the coming weeks. If you have any queries on this matter, dont hesitate to
drop by the office for a chat, or give me a call on 59852864.
