October flew by like the flurries of dropping leaves that mark the arrival of fall. This was the first official full month of the deployment. Many of us saw the impact on the EOM September LES. Still more of us had to wait for EOM October. But when you’re looking for any good things to note about deployment... at least there is that. For those in the unit that are with Rear D... we are blessed with your presence here at home.

We have had some great opportunities come our way. Early in October we saw the first of our Monthly Classes that are being organized by our FRSA, Karen Foshee. The focus of this class was Finance & Debt. This class contained a lot of information about how to avoid the pitfalls of debt but also where to best invest your money based on your current status. Karen will rotate

another financially focused course into the calendar in early 2012... just in time for Tax Season! Later in the newsletter, in the FRSA Foshee Finds section, you will find information about the next class coming up!

About the middle of October we had the TF

Wolfpack Fall Fun Day. The cover of this issue as well as the following few pages share photos of the event! The end of the month had the FRG wrapping up a few meetings to organize events that you will see coming up in early and mid-

November as well as plans for the Holiday Party in December.

As always, we are here for you. If you would like to submit information or photos to the newsletter, please do so by emailing: [email protected]

We look forward to your contribution!

October in review...

Pies for Patriots was a big success in October. We received 40 cases of cherry pies for the unit donated from Harris Teeter. Please watch for information about Novembers pies... if

history serves us correctly...this time they

will be pumpkin!
