3-D printers use lasers on plastic and metal, not ink on paper

This article is about 3-D printers and how they work.

Fact or Opinion Fact- 3-D printers do not require paper or ink. Fact- Airplane manufactures use 3-D printers

on airplane engine parts. Opinion- I think that 3-D printers could be bad

for the economy because people could use them to print common household items. So companies could start loosing business.

Opinion- I think that 3-D printers are dangerous because with the lasers inside, the printer could catch on fire.

When did this story take place? This story took place in 2013. It has to

do with past events and current events. It has to do with both because the article discusses what the 3-D printer could do in 2013, but now it is probably more advanced.

Where did this story take place? This story is occurring in the United

States as a whole.

How is this story important? This story is important because it

teaches people about 3-D printers and what their uses are.

Predict what will happen while this story develops.

I think that as the story develops 3-D printers will become more and more advanced than they already are. As time goes on, they will become more common and available to more people.

Question- As 3-D printers develop, will there be more safety precautions about the use of them? Why or why not?

Answer- I think that there will because of all the lasers and melting that happens in the printer, something could catch on fire.
