In Local News… Girl Scout Troop Supports Transplant… On Monday, the Girl Scouts of Troop 40669, organized a blood drive at the Orange Avenue School in Cranford, in order to support a girl who recently had a heart transplant. With more than 100 donors at the event, more supporters signed up to donate later in the month. Although some of the children at the school were too young to donate, they all wore purple shirts with the phrase "Hearts for Emma," and helped with the bake sale. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 In other news… Fighting Dog Gets Second Chance… This past week, Garwood resident, Mary Harwelik, saved pit bull, Sedona, from death. Sedona lived in Bloomingdale, Ohio, chained to a barrel in a yard. Police then arrested the man who already had charges for drugs and alcohol. The non- prot organization, The Real Pit Bull, is founded by Mary Harwelik, which has helped save pit bulls from all parts of the country.

Girl Scout Troop Supports Transplant…

On Monday, the Girl Scouts of Troop 40669, organized a blood drive at the Orange

Fighting Dog Gets Second Chance…

This past week, Garwood resident, Mary Harwelik, saved pit bull, Sedona, from

death. Sedona lived in Bloomingdale, Ohio, chained to a barrel in a yard. Police

then arrested the man who already had charges for drugs and alcohol. The non-

prot organization, The Real Pit Bull, is founded by Mary Harwelik, which has

helped save pit bulls from all parts of the country.

Southern Storm Kills 9…

On Monday, thunderstorms and tornadoes abrupted south of the Midwest, leaving

power lines and trees knocked down from Texas to Virginia. Tom Bradshaw, a

meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said that the most striking thing has

been the widespread damage caused by the wind.

The storm had moved east onto the Atlantic Ocean by Tuesday, but along the way it

killed 7 people in Georgia, one man in Memphis, Tennessee, and one man in

Mississippi.

Barbara A. Lenk was nominated to be Massachusetts rst lesbian to serve on the

Supreme Judicial Court by Gov. Deval Patrick on Monday. As an openly gay

female married to her partner, Justice Lenk is the longest-serving justice on the

state's Court of Appeals.

Gov. Patrick has stated to enjoy the "ideas of rsts," and believes that if Justice

Lenk is appointed, it would be another history-making choice. He also makes it

clear that aside from being a lesbian, she has the qualications and experience to

be the next member to serve on the Supreme Judicial Court.

British Journalists Seek Answers by Phone-Hacking…

Rupert Murdoch's tabloid, The News of the World, was exposed to having two

journalists allegedly hack into celebrity voice mails for the past 5 years. Some of

those people were Prince William, Prince Harry, Sienna Miller, and some

professional soccer players. Both journalists were arrested, but released on bail on

Tuesday with no charges. Much of these accusations have been traced back to Ian

Edmondson, former news editor who was red, and chief reporter, Neville

Thurlebeck.

Royal Wedding Streams Live…

On April 29, Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding will become the rst

British royal wedding to stream live on the Internet. It will also be the rst to have

phone applications and soundtrack release on iTunes within hours of the

ceremony. It has reached a point in which newspapers like, The Washington Post

and Web sites like The Hufngton Post, have created its own section dedicated to

this event. British Sky Broadcasting even offered to broadcast the wedding in 3-D,

but the royal family refused. Many reports are looking to have their ratings go up

when the wedding takes place in Westminster Abbey in London in just three

weeks.

In Sports…

On Tuesday, the German team, FC Schalke (SHAWL-KA), traveled to Milan, Italy

with a goal to defeat Inter Milan and they did just that by nalizing the game 5-2.

The English team, Tottenham Hotspur had a devastating 4-0 loss to the Spanish

league team, Real Madrid. With these two wins, FC Schalke (SHAWL-KA) and Real

(RE-ALL) Madrid move a step closer to reaching the Champions League

seminals. Today Manchester United face off with rival Chelsea in the rst-leg

quarternals and Shakhtar (SHOCK-TAR) Donetsk (DOE-NESK)travel to Barcelona

to face off with FC Barcelona.

For the rst time on July 27, the New York Red Bulls will host the 2011 AT&T MLS

All Star game against the number one English team, Manchester United at the Red

Bull Arena in Harrison. This event will be the 16th All-Star Game in the league's

history since the 2010 sold out event that took place at Houston's Reliant Stadium

that held more than 70,000 fans.

Tuesday marked former Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain's death, but many seemed

more interested in his daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. With a father like Kurt

Cobain, mother like Courtney Love, godfather like Michael Stipe of REM, and

godmother like Drew Barrymore, Frances Bean has managed to stay out of the

spotlight. Web searches have increased since Tuesday because of the lack of

photos, videos, interviews and news there is on Frances. Under the alias name of

"Fiddle Tim," Frances gave an art show in Los Angeles in 2010 to earn her own

success without the inuence of her last name and mother.

Wendy Williams from "The Wendy Williams Show," along with her partner Tony

Dovolani became the second contestants to be eliminated from Dancing with the

Stars on Tuesday. Although many were not surprised, including Wendy, she

explained that she was too busy ying back and forth from New York to Los

Angeles because her show tapes 5 days a week. She left the show positive and

even joked by saying, "Despite stereotypes, this is one black girl who can't even do

the running man."

After a little more than a year of not being on Twitter, Miley Cyrus returned not just

for her fans, but to support Charlie Sheen. Charlie tweeted to Miley, "Dear Miley,

Welcome back to Twitter! Always felt you were epic…Now you proved it! Thanks for

the love!" Miley responded with, "I always felt the same about you! You have taught

me everything I know about WINNING." Only time will tell what will come out of this

duo.
