GIRLS SUCCESS LAST WEEK Last week Ellie Yeardye, Hannah Shoard, Emily Hook, Beth Cutmore, Olivia Scrutton and Harriet Kealy took part in the step 2 trampoline competition at John Warner School. The girls put in a fantastic, polished performance to win the competition. They now go forward to the county finals later this month. Special mention to Emily and Beth who finished 2nd and 3rd overall respectively. On the same evening the senior hockey team won the district tournament held at Simon Balle. The girls played extremely well and thoroughly deserved their wins over Broxbourne and Presdales. On Monday of this week, Phoebe McMurray, Abi Benstead, Sophie Rawlinson, Yasmin Scott-Gray, Jessie Ensum, Megan Sende, Chloe Ring and Maddy Twyning took part in the Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Competion. This was a brilliant team performance which ensured we beat Sele, Queenswood and John Warner to qualify as winners of the tournament. The girls now go forward to county finals later this month. Well done to all the girls, Simon Balle was represented in style.

YEAR 9 NETBALL TOURNAMENT Well done to Abbey Conroy, Abi Cousins, Libby Harding, Lily Canham, Chloe Pitch, Emily Hook, Jasmine Seiler, Joanna Wood who gained joint 7th place in the recent netball tournament. Also a big thank you to Linda Hill who kindly umpired and coached the goals on the evening.

YEAR 8 GIRLS NETBALL V PRESDALES 2 excellent games of netball took place this evening. The B team (in gold) - Shannon Higgins, Rosa Noxon, Izzy Sutton, Jenny Goodson, Eve Mortimer-Blythe, Louise Riley, Emily Veryard lost 11-3 although the result doesn't reflect the effort and skill level of the girls involved. Player of the game was shared 3 ways between Rosa, Louise and Izzy which shows what a great overall team performance it was. The A team (in green) - Emily Frith, Philippa Shattock, Clara Wells, Leah Wilkerson, Molly Robinson, Emma Butcher, Olivia Scrutton, Lily Jones had a superb game, trailing by 2 in the 1st quarter, 4 in the 2nd, 5 in the third and 2 in the 3rd to come back and tie the game 16-16. Again, another superb team effort with everyone giving their all to get a fantastic result. Lily was player of the match but again this accolade could have gone to anyone on the team. Well done ladies!

U15 Girls bow out at the National Quarter Final stage The Year 9/10 girls played Queens School from Watford last Tuesday giving a spirited performance. The girls were beaten 2-0 to a good footballing team who will surely go far in this tournament. Flo Fyfe, Chloe Ring and Abbey Benstead played very well with the girls unlucky not to get a result. A big well done to the girls for getting to this stage for the second time, which shows great consistency.
