HOUSE MEET We at MVN try to instill the values of self motivation, self confidence and sensibility within our students. The
goals of student empowerment, development of leadership skills and community feeling are achieved
through the selection of the students council which is made up of house captains, vice captains, prefects,
sports captain, sports vice-captain, cultural heads and class representatives. All the members of the
students' council work together as a team to uphold the rules and regulation of the school and help to
maintain discipline. Through their work they learn a valuable lesson that with authority comes
responsibilities and its associated challenges.
The selection procedure consisted of a speech, writing skills, group discussion round and an interview
round.
ART AND CRAFT COMPETITION:

Paintings are a language of dreams and one of the most creative forms of expression. To motivate the students to express their views and explore their
creativity through art, an art and craft competition on the theme 'Green and
Clean India' was organized. The students of class VII expressed their creative side by means of paints and brushes. Students enjoyed themselves thoroughly. They participated enthusiastically and with a good competitive spirit.
In the time and age of auto-
correct, predictive text and spell
check, the Spell Bee competition for
students of class VII at MVN came
as a whiff of fresh breeze.
The Spell –Bee competition was
organised by the department of
English. Three students from each
section of class VII were shortlisted
for the second round on the basis of
their performance. Students
participated with great
enthusiasm and dueled through the
toughest words to prove their
mettle.
SPELL BEE COMPETITION If you think Mathematics is
all about hard core
calculations then I guess you
have not witnessed the
Maths quiz organized for
class VI students! Students
used their sharp mind and
profound mathematical
knowledge to solve the
preliminary round of the
quiz. Not only did they find
the quiz engaging, but also
great fun and entertaining.
MATHS QUIZ
COLLAGE MAKING COMPETITION
An expression is a unique way of linking imagination and creativity with the
shades and tints of life experiences. Collage making was a pair competition
conducted for the students of class VII based on the theme 'Media and
Advertising'. There was a great co-operation seen among the students.
Poster Making competition:
A poster making competition was organized for the students of class VI on the
Earth Day. The topic was 'Save our Planet Earth'. The main objective of the
event was to engross the hidden talents of the students. Students expressed
their feelings in the form of quotations and beautiful paintings and sketches.
This poster making activity was an exciting opportunity for students to
depict their ideas creatively.
MOTHER'S DAY CARD MAKING COMPETITION
All mothers love to receive handmade cards from their kids. These works of arts usually take pride of place in their rooms for months or even years. Class VI students enthusiastically took part in Mother's Day Card making competition. They expressed their feelings for their mothers using plain papers and then decorating it with scribbles, stickers and ribbons. Each and every card was unique and children put in their best efforts to make their moms feel special.
MOTHER'S DAY (P.P.T Making Activity)
To honour mothers and motherhood, a P.P.T making activity was held for the
students of VII standard. The students expressed their love for their mothers by
presenting beautiful P.P.Ts with slogans, poems, thanksgiving quotes, pictures
and their own photographs with their loving mothers.
SOLO SINGING (Selection round)
A Solo – Singing (Selection round) was conducted for the students of class VII based on the theme 'Patriotism'. The students added patriotic fervor by singing variety of songs related to the theme. The students took it seriously and it helped in moulding their inbuilt music talent. Three students from each class were selected on the basis of voice modulation, rhythm and presentation. All the young maestros who participated made it a great success. It was a sheer delight to hear the students sing so enthusiastically which filled the atmosphere with nationalism.
SOLO DANCE COMPETITION:
It is correctly said that dance uses the kinaesthetic mode with imagination, thus making a unique contribution to the education of young people. An intra-class solo-dance competition was held for class – VI students, in which students participated with great energy and enthusiasm. They showed their passion for dance with lovely expressions and fluid dance movements. It brought mixed feelings for the audience too, who clapped their hands and tapped their feet to encourage the participants

Unity in Diversity
“ We might be different but we are one as Indians”.
Celebrating the unsurpassing beauty of togetherness and capturing the quintessence of Unity in Diversity, the
students of classes 7C and 7D presented a special assembly which began with the morning prayer invoking
peace and prosperity followed by the news headlines and the thought of the day.
Unity in diversity is a socio-ecological philosophy that describes a sense of oneness despite physical and
psychological barriers.
The students stressed that cultural differences should not separate us from each other rather cultural
diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all humanity.
The aim of the assembly was to foster in our children an understanding that the entire humanity is one family
irrespective of geographical, racial or linguistic barriers.
RABINDRA NATH TAGORE
To mark the birth anniversary of Rabindra Nath Tagore, a special assembly was organized by the students of
class 7E & 7F. The assembly began with the ritual of chanting 'Gyatri Mantra' followed by the school prayer. It
was then followed by a series of performances by the students which included the iconic composition of “Ekla
Chalo Re”, a skit, article, poems, PPT and a quiz round. The assembly ensured hundred percent participation
of the students of both the classes.
The assembly was an effort to make the students aware of his contribution, the way he gave a new dimension th thto Indian Literature and music in 19 and 20 centuries. It was a tribute to his multifaceted personality.
MOTHER'S DAY ASSEMBLY
Classes 6 C and 6D students presented a special
assembly to express their love, gratitude and
respect for their mothers. The students presented
beautiful songs, dance and an article. The power
point presentation about mother's love brought
smiles to everyone’s faces. It was a wonderful
assembly.
BAISAKHIThe students of 6B presented a marvellous assembly on the festival of Baisakhi. Baisakhi marks the onset of new year
for farmers in the North. Harvest is complete and ready to be sold. The joy of bountiful harvest is expressed with songs,
dance and feast. The students presented a foot tapping dance that enthralled the audience.
WORLD HERITAGE DAY AND EARTH DAY
World Heritage Day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. A special
assembly was conducted by the students of classes 7 A and 7B with an aim to
ingrain in children the values of culture and preservance of heritage through an
enlightening speech, beautiful poem on the conservation of our rich heritage,
and an enchanting dance performance. The highlight of the celebration was an
oath taken by the students wherein they pledged to strive earnestly to preserve
their glorious heritage and pass on this tradition unblemished to the coming
generations.
'The proper use of science is not to to conquer nature but to live in it'. The Earth
Day assembly focused on the beauty and goodness of our Mother Earth. It was a
reminder that we have forgotten the beautiful gift that we have been given in the
form of the planet Earth. A beautifully choreographed ballet dance was
performed by the students of classes 7A & 7B. All the students pledged to be the
defenders and friends of the Earth.

Labour Day“ One can do anything but not everything… So we need the support of
people around us to achieve our goals.”
The Students of classes 7E and 7F celebrated Labour Day with gusto
and presented a beautiful assembly which taught children the dignity of
labour. There was a hundred percent participation of the students. The
students expressed that everybody has to work to earn a living. The
students also presented a skit and recited poems.
‘WORLD HEALTH DAY’Class VI A students presented a special assembly on the World Health Day. The
assembly began with the thought ‘Eat your food as medicines or you will have to eat
medicines as your food’. Students presented a beautiful song, thought provoking poem and
shared an article about healthy food habits. The assembly ended with a power point
presentation on the topic.
INTERACTIVE SESSIONS
The interactive sessions are platforms where every
individual is given an opportunity to share his / her
views on the given topic. The first session was held on
11th April. The topic was apt and relevant ‘Excitement
about new class’. Almost everyone had something to say,
something to share, something to be excited about. To
make the students aware of some of the great people who
brought name and fame to themselves as well as their
country by their struggle and hard work, we motivate
children to read the autobiographies of such people and
share their knowledge in interactive sessions so that
they can also find their hidden potentials and be one like
them.
FITNESS CLASSES“ Fitness is not about being
better than someone else. Its
about being better than you
need to be”
We firmly believe in this and thus have tried to amalgamate being fit and learning together. This blend would work wonders as the purpose of training is to tighten up the slack, toughen the body and polish the spirit.This programme has been designed to incorporate different aspects of health, diet, nutrition plan, exercise and meditation.These classes include aerobics, yoga, zumba, gymnastics and special diet training sessions.
TRIP TO MCLEODGANJ
TRIP TO MCLEODGANJ AND DHARAMSHALA
Imparting education is not just about sitting in a classroom, giving
lessons and theorizing infinitely about different topics of educational
course. To give the practical and actual hands on experience of
nature, history and culture, like everyyear, a school trip was
organized to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. The 3 nights 4 days trip
was mixed with fun as well as learning. Students were really amazed
to see the scenic beauty of the Dal lake, St. John Church, the
Monastery and Sun – set point. Not only did they enjoy the local
cuisine but also indulged in shopping of local memorabilia and
souvenirs for their dear family members. Pleasant weather and sight
seeing added to the fun quotient. It was a memorable trip for all.
