Experience and technology enable resources to be conserved much longer. The same old material can be ground down and put through the production process again. Qual è l origine degli ingredienti RE MAX®?LS: Il Polipropilene rigenerato proviene da scarti di produzioni industriale principalmente dai settori alimentare, medicale e oggetti per la casa, sempre dagli scarti proviene il legno, in particolare dalle produzioni di sedie, tavoli e arredamento in genere. Le materie prime vengono stoccate all interno del nostro stabilimento in ambienti dedicati, in attesa di essere miscelate con appositi macchinari secondo le ricette RE MAX®.
Dove è stato sviluppato RE MAX®? LS: Il nostro team di sviluppo prodotto e materiali è composto da tecnici esperti che svolge il proprio lavoro nella sede centrale, dove è prevista un area dedicata connessa con lo stabilimento dove stampiamo le materie plastiche. Qui studiamo le nuove ricette speci!che in funzione degli obiettivi estetici e meccanici richiesti dal progetto, prepariamo e controlliamo le miscele, sviluppiamo e testiamo i prototipi prima della produzione dei nuovi prodotti.Tutto il processo industriale è ottimizzato da persone esperte che attraverso un sistema di controllo certi!cato riduce il fattore rischio con controlli continui anche pezzo per pezzo ove necessario.
Cosa comporta utilizzare una materia prima non omogenea volendo garantire un risultato industriale in termine di prestazione e colore?LS: Ci siamo prima di tutto dotati di speci!che attrezzature e riprogettato lo spazio all interno del nostro stabilimento per inserire la nuova linea produttiva. A livello di processo invece occorre prestare particolare attenzione ad alcune fasi fondamentali che assicurano la realizzazione della materia prima: essicazione e deumidi!cazione in atmosfera controllata attraverso le quali le materie prime in granuli vengono stabilizzate; la fusione della miscela, l integrazione di diversi ingredienti a seconda che si tratti di sola plastica o plastica e legno, questa fase permette di ottenere il materiale voluto con cui saranno poi realizzati i prodotti, lo stampaggio ad iniezione, che conferisce la forma
e il colore secondo il progetto. Durante le fasi di produzione (inizio di produzione, transizione da un colore all altro) i manufatti non conformi vengono puntualmente da noi rigranulati e reinseriti nel processo produttivo. La veri!ca della qualità estetica è infatti un aspetto di fondamentale importanza a"nchè il prodotto attraverso il materiale possa esprimere coerentemente la propria personalità e trasferire una percezione sensoriale positiva.
Perchè il processo produttivo RE MAX® si può de!nire circolare?LS: Innanzitutto perchè alla !ne vita del prodotto tutto il materiale può essere totalmente riciclato.Il progetto RE MAX® è una tappa fondamentale nel percorso di ottimizzazione che abbiamo intrapreso: entro i prossimi 3 anni intendiamo ridurre al minimo l acquisto di materia prima vergine, grazie ad una migliore gestione dello scarto all interno dei nostri cicli produttivi.
Where do the ingredients for RE MAX® come from?LS: The regenerated Polypropylene comes from industrial production waste generated primarily by the food production, medical, and household goods industries. The wood used also comes from waste created during the production of chairs, tables and furniture in general. The raw materials are then stored in our warehouses in a speci!c location, waiting to be blended in specialized machines according to the di#erent RE MAX® formulas.
Where was RE MAX® developed? LS: Our product and materials development team is made up of technical experts who are working at our headquarters, in a dedicated area connected with the facility where we manufacture our plastic materials. Here we research new speci!c formulas based on the aesthetic and mechanical goals of a given project, we prepare and test the mixtures, and we also
develop the prototypes before new products go into production. The entire industrial process is optimized by experts who, through a system of certi!ed testings, reduce risk factors with continuous quality control, even piece by piece if necessary.
What does the use of non-homogenous raw materials entail when you want to ensure an industrial result in terms of performance and colour?LS: First and foremost, we use speci!c equipment and we redesigned the space inside our factory to accommodate the new production line. When it comes to the process it is necessary to pay special attention to some essential stages in order to ensure the consistency of the raw material: drying and dehumidifying in a controlled atmosphere so that the granulated raw materials are stabilized; the fusing of the mixture, integrating di#erent ingredients depending on whether they are only plastic or plastic and wood. This stage allows us to obtain the desired material which will then be made into products; this is done by injection molding, which determines the shape and colour chosen for a given design. During the di#erent stages of the production process (start of production, changing from one colour to another) any product that do not comply with the established standard is removed and re-granulated and then put back into the production cycle. Ensuring aesthetic quality is of fundamental importance so that the product, through the material, can consistently express its personality and communicate a positive sensory perception.
Why is the RE MAX® production process de!ned as circular?LS: Above all because when a product reaches the end of its usable lifecycle, all of the materials can be recycled. The RE MAX® project is a fundamental step in the optimiation plan that we have undertaken. Over the next three years we intend to reduce our purchases of virgin raw materials to a minimum, thanks to better management of waste within our own production cycles.

In esclusiva per RE MAX® vengono definite due nuove palette: i toni BLEND che combinano PP riciclato e legno, e quelli SOLID dove viene adottato solo PP riciclato. Queste selezioni guardano ai bisogni contemporanei degli ambienti domestici e dei progetti di interni. The colour concept introduces two refined palettes that are something limited to RE MAX® only. The BLEND shades integrate recycled PP and wood, while the SOLID ones are pure recycled PP options. These specific tones combine the qualities typically found in home furnishing with the demanding requirements of the project sector. A choice of colours that enhances the material!s robust character and balanced appearance.
